I still keep coming back to this video years after I've seen it. Thank you for making this video and for you vocal analysis. May Kim Jonghyun rip. I wish he knew that even though no one is perfect, that so many people respected his work ethic and him as a person.

I can find vocal ranges of any male singers, but I'm not confident with doing so with singers whose music I don't listen to as much as SHINee, BoA, SNSD, f(x), TVXQ! or ChoColat, since I could probably miss out on so many notes and not have an accurate vocal range, but soon, this week, I will post Onew's vocal range as well :3

I try to stay away from Kpop drama, but a lot of my friends are constantly bringing it up. Which reminds me, I think SNSD is trying to get me to like them, because their newer songs are actually nice to listen to.

Oohh that's pretty amazing! One of the best abilities and dramatic is like a very desirable voice type imo bcuz it's so big and damn.

for me its, Jonghyun, Yesung, Kyuhyun, Onew, Yoseob, Hongki, Junsu (2pm), Changmin (TVXQ and 2AM), Eunkwang, so it's basically most of the main vocalists in every group.

참고로 종현은 진성을 1옥타브 도부터 2옥타브 솔 샾/라까지, 두성은 3옥타브 파샾/솔까지 성대를 붙일 수 있어요

이거만드신분도대단하시네요ㅎ

No no, It's just that both sing the same line, and Jonghyun happens to sing that line at the end, which I cropped off, but there's also parts where Onew is singing a line and Jjong is adlibbing in the back! :3

@kws8816 onew doesn't really have a mix neither is it strong, he has it, yes, but it's not overly used, he barely ever goes to the fifth octave, I've seen him hit a G5 once, but he is really good with his pulled chest and everything else...but yeah, i think songs like 하나 (One)'s F5's are good and don't sound strained from Jjong's side, and jjong's range up until Eb5 is pretty natural

@iluvtaemin A2 is So Goodbye, C3 is Wrongly Given Love with Zhang Li Yin, in chinese G#5 is First Time by Jung Yeop live on Radio, and the other one, at 6:15 is a song he sang live by michael jackson, it's a video amongst the options on the side bar, if u click, it's called jonghyun's 4 octave notes

@arualHM Changmin has no chest voice when he sings high, he uses mix and mix only, his range is pretty high because his mix is just so naturally developed, he can hit B5's at ease, he can certainly sing very high....Jjong's problem is....his mixed is not chesty enough and his higher notes aren't well trained in technique so oh well, changmin is lucky for having a natural mix

@kws8816 wow, that video is really recent and i agree, i find his mixed voice to be kind of annoyed and overrated, i mean, sure he can sing high, but if he cant sing beautifully in a normal range, what's the point? the good thing is, he can, so it's alright........and on that video, that song has a really pretty melody.......but nah, he only went up to F#5 there, it's very high, but not as good as he could normally do it, and not higher than he showed before, but thanks a lot for the video!

at last... someone make this kind of video XD you rocks! hey can you do Onew next? i really want to know and.. T_T

@kws8816 well, his mixed voice is pretty natural, he didn't really get trained in it, that's why it has that kinda forced amateur sound sometimes.....i dun think its sm, its jjong who likes to overuse it lol....he sings nicely when he doesnt use his mix, i like it honestly.....but oh, if u watch the video, i added a link to a Bb5 he sang during hello baby, it's like at 6:30, i was watching it and i was like, damm, missed out on that, so he has indeed proved 3 octaves and a half note

hell yeah it's Daesung. lol Oh I love Daesung's tone more and Ik he's better... lol Daesung's lower range is pretty bad tho and apart from that D6, I don't think he's got much else, but I'd consider him (but I'm not a VIP so I lack material >_

a friend of mine said he would, the reason why I wouldn't though is... I'm not too familiar with his lower range, Ik of a C3 and higher like C5 maybe, and head voice there's one Bb5. only 1. I don't have anything in between at all, if you can find a lot of head voice notes, I might consider it

Well, it's both, there's an online tuner which tells me the notes it hears, but I then sing the line he just sang and I find the lowest note and hit it for a longer period of time so the software can clearly tell, but you can also use the piano, A2 is the note A in the second octave of a piano and C6 is the C 2 octaves above middle C, but I usually just sing back the notes, I can tell some others, I use everything I have! :3

@1zhxzhx he never said he had a 4 octave range, people tend to mistranslate, like how they said the 3 octave thing for IU when they meant 3 semi-tones, and Jjong said on that clip that he can hit 4 octave Do, which in english is a C6, that's all he ever said, so people translated as simply 4 octave as if he has 4 octaves

Oh, I'm taking a small haitus from my vocal lessons. I still do exercises to keep my voice limber though. My voice changed from a lyric to a dramatic, but I've been able to maintain my coloratura abilities due to a lot of training.
