I wouldn’t even wish for my worst enemy to end up in that shit hole, that’s just cruel for the sake of cruelty. Bruce actually did run away, Bruce actually did train for many years in the ways of Combat and Espionage; Alfred merely dawned the identity of the Joker because when Bruce came back, Alfred could do absolutely nothing to persuade him to stop this fantasy of fighting crime. Gotham is a very dangerous and fucked up place; Alfred was just trying to keep Bruce safe, because if Bruce dies, Wayne Enterprises has no heir and the company will be dissolved and divided up between other organizations. It was a Power Move for control by Alfred to not only keep Bruce under 24/7 surveillance, but also to ensure that no one but he and Bruce have access to the Wayne Family Funds.

Batman: *dies* Alfred: ACTUALLY becomes the joker

This sounds like a tale of “Daddy didn’t let me play with the big boys. Wah 😭. So I just went out anyway.”

This is one of many Batmen. This one was a bit of an ass, or he would have figured out Alfred's game far earlier. If he were as great a detective as a Batman should have been; he would have stopped everything before it got out of hand. But he lacked the ability in the end, he was not good enough at being Batman.

Ah this must be the Alec Baldwin universe

Actually all the main villains that Batman had are all actors that Alfred paid, and he was the joker. He did this because there were no real threats in Gotham for Batman to defeat and so he became depressed and wanted to stop being a hero. Alfred then saw this and made villains for Batman, then eventually batman found out Alfred’s secret and became depressed again. He then heard the riddler is holding kids hostage with a gun so Batman goes over there and tells him that he knows this was all a lie and he can stop acting now. The person acting out riddler was going insane tho and getting too much into character and he was holding a real gun. Batman doesn’t know this and thinks he’s trying to convince him the it’s not fake so he starts getting closer to take the “fake” gun but then gets shot in the face. Then he died. After that all the villains come to visit Batman at his funeral and they all talk about how they fought him and their battles and made a bunch of toast in honor of his name. So the story ends very wholesome even tho Alfred is sad that he got Batman killed he still lived on.

Whatever Happened To The Caped Crusader. My favorite comic book ever, by Neil Gaiman. Though Alfred wasn’t protecting him from more dangerous villains. He was caring for the deep depresión Bruce felt when he didn’t have a foe to fight. All villains are his old theater company friends, and the one playing riddler got so stuck into character he ended up killing Batman

The best part is the Joker is there during this. This is actually part of a comic where many different conflicting stories of his death are told with the conclusion that it doesn’t actually really matter.

It’s because this story, Whatever Happened To The Caped Crusader?, is about Batman experiencing his own funeral but every story told about how he died is always different, as they’re from different versions of his life, so this one being told by the ‘Joker was really’ Alfred was about how his Batman died.

Motherfucker *WHAT?!* So in this dark universe Bruce had a shot at peace, a chance to end the vicious cycle of crime, death, and Malice but ALFRED was like "nah, you finna always have problems lil G, no closure, forever pain"

In this story different people talk about different Batmans dying against them. In Alfred's case, his Bruce wasn't actually cut out to be Batman, so he created goofy villains who could challenge him without actually hurting him. One of them was the Riddler, but the actor had mental deterioration and was consumed by the roles he played. The Riddler in this case.

I would like if they made a story where Alfred arranged the death of Bruce Wayne's parents and then just continued on as normal being the butler, enjoying life as Bruce is out there fighting crime, but always in the back of his mind feeling the guilt of being responsible.

I honestly would like it more if he did it on purpose, then encouraged and groomed Bruce specifically to be a vigilante. He'd have subliminally pushed the Bat iconography so Bruce would have an identity to get behind. Why? Possibly that he discovered the parents had intended to replace him because Alfred had stolen money from them, but they didn't want to get the police involved. It also ensured he had a lifelong job and comfortable living for the rest of his days. He could also convince Bruce that he's trustworthy so his own crimes didn't come to light and that monster he was grooming didn't bite him in the butt. It would be an easy job, since Bruce isn't around a lot, there's not much in the way of work to do since technology these days makes short work of it. A bit convoluted, maybe? You could add people like Lucien are in on the take, as he threatens to tell Bruce the truth and Alfred is forced to pay him off. The story could center around one of such people being kidnapped and tortured because Alfred is trying to get rid of them without being discovered, so he paid some criminals to do it for him. It could involve Alfred trying to prevent Bruce from figuring that part out, including suggestions about other people who could've paid the hired thugs. You could also make part of the story that he also had Dick's parents murdered to extend the web of deceit. At the end of it all, Alfred flees the country, one that doesn't expedite, just before Bruce finds it all out. Make it realistic, in that he has plastic surgery to keep his secret and Bruce can't find him and the story ends as it shows Alfred sipping a cold drink as he lounges on the beach, a radio talking about the dissolution of Wayne Enterprises as they go bankrupt. Then Alfred checks the stock market on his phone and remarks about one going up and how it only gets better before it fades out.

It would even fit in with Alfred killing ppl where Bruce can't, like what if he killed every tie possible to him that he could? He'd have to outwit the world's greatest detective for the rest of his life until Bruce grew past solving the murders at least.

This haunting story was nothing compared to the disturbing one Selina previously told. Apparently, she and Batman met at first as enemies, fighting to the death until they gradually began to like each other and ended up entering into a relationship. However, Bruce finally decided to break up with her, assuring that it was the best for both, which caused Selina to develop a great grudge against the caped crusader. Some time later, Selina found a very badly injured Batman, who had come looking for her for help. Even though, at first, it seemed that her ex was going to help him, in the end she simply tied him up, letting him slowly bleed to death.

That's what I thought when I read it too, but it's completely non-canon and isn't meant to be taken as a real story. It's just a cog in a much more beautiful and sentimental end of an era story.

Oh, in this particular story, Bruce learned what was actually going on by the time he went to confront the Riddler actor, because the actor playing Riddler had gotten consumed by the role. Even after learning all previous fights in that world were just acting, and knowing the Riddler actor was now a legitimate danger, he still went to try and talk them down.

There's an old skit by dorkly where Alfred is actually the leader of the "villains" who are actors hired by him to keep Bruce from thinking about his parents. Batman breaks into the meeting that Alfred was having with his actors/villians (which included the joker) and Batman thinks that they kidnapped Alfred and now that all his archenemies are "captured" he starts thinking about his dead parents again.
