OMG - so GREAT to see this, still performing and man oh man, he can still play that gee-tar! Don't know why, but several days ago I woke up from a dream and this song was in my head. I was shocked when I looked it up online and saw it was from 1966 - I was a sophomore in high school that year (now 72). Not sure if that dream that I don't remember had anything to do with waking up to the song in my head? Whatever. It's now on auto-track inside my head, LOL along with several other songs. "Del's a man who lives a life of danger, and everyone he meets he stays a stranger..." LOVE IT - and Johnny Rivers, so many wonderful hit songs.

He only wrote one of his hit songs--"The Poor Side of Town." I am not sure why that matters---it hasn't kept female singers or Motown artists out of the Hall--but Hall voters seem to have an issue with male solo artists who interpret others' tunes. Neither Joe Cocker nor Tom Jones is in the Hall.
