He is NOT in the Rock and Roll hall of fame !!! What are they thinking. Singer, song writer, producer, Grammy winner, etc. 17 hits in Billboard 100, Number 1 billboard hit, Poor Side of Town !! . Also, his songs have been used in movies and TV series. What else do you have to do ????????

This guy is one of the rare talents who can sing live the same as studio recording.

His voice is still as silky as it was in the 1960s. A great musician and a damn charming man. ❤️

This song was so perfect for me when I was 17 on the poor side of town and trying to find a girl. It said it all for me. Great song. He should definitely be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

When I look at all the great talented artists NOT in the hall of fame realized it is just a joke. Very little to do with actual rock and roll artists more of an ego trip for the founder. Why I've never visited it.

The first time I saw a picture of him I was shocked to see he was not black.

I was in the USMC 72 to 76 and i walked into the Whiskey a Go Go club in LA one weekend and there he was playing and singing, i have been a fan of his ever since. He is great !!!!

You're 10 years late my friend, this simple masterpiece was released in 1966, then Johnny was the house band after he opened the "Whiskey a' GoGo", in January 64. I'm not trying to correct you friend, just thought you'd like to know and it makes what you wrote even more amazing. Cheers !

I saw Johnny in 1985 in 100 degree heat on Auditorium Shores in Austin, Texas. He was his own lead guitarist and didn't miss a like, playing or vocally. A true musician.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's, love Johnny Rivers!

He can take others songs and make them great, but there's no one who can top his voice! He can make you melt.

Amazing how just a few notes can take you back to memories of times and places that stir your soul. Thanks Johnny! You still got it!!

Seriously we need to get him in the RnRHOF ASAP FFSs It would be wonderful to do this before he gets in by means of a tribute. Lets give him the tribute NOW there are far too many tiny talents in the RnRHOF! He is a Giant and He STILL Has it!!!

Just saw him December 1 2018 he sure still has it wonderful musician for a 76 year old does a wonderful show and every time I have seen him he has never failed to take time for autographs

Johnny comes almost every year to a casino on the Texas/Oklahoma state line. I've seen him several times and can't get enough. If you ever have the chance to see him, DO IT! He truly does sound like he always did. This is the first time I've ever seen him with backup singers, though. I love it because the backups were such a big part of his overall sound.

I'm 59 and been a fan my whole life. I got hooked from my aunt (rip). I don't think I want anything more than to see him live singing my all time favorite song. (Along with Baby I need your Lovín) Perhaps after my 3 yr honor college student graduates. It's tuff being a single mom. LOL. Hold on Johnny I'm on the way! (God willin) I live in Virginia. With very few exceptions, Johnny's spent his entire career as a cover artist, with the main focus on hit songs that were first recorded by the great groups of Motown. I think that's the reason he hasn't yet found his way into the HOF. He is a terrific performer in his own right, both vocally and instrumentally. Listening to his recordings is always a good time for me.

Listen to this from 66 and then recently. No difference. That's a rarity. Extraordinary.

He is the greatest.
