    💯 those two are the superstar attorneys of this trial, but the proof will be in the end result. We'll soon see if the jury is actually capable of recognizing their brilliance, and see through the vile nature behind the defense tactics. Defamation is exceedingly difficult to prove, and has ramifications for how the first amendment is interpreted. That isn't to say that I don't believe that it JD should win, or that AH needs to go back to the trailer park she grew up in and live out the rest of her days in reclusive squalor, I just have little to no faith in the jury

    This lawyer doesn't get enough credit. He's done an incredible job in this trial, especially because his whole approach is a rather bumbling Colombo style delivery. Yet he hits the mark every time, makes his point every time, and always leaves the questioning on a high point for the defence. The best example being when he was talking about the 'Justice for Johnny Depp' hashtag (which he kept repeating - deliberately on purpose haha) and got the witness to agree that it wasn't offensive or detrimental to Ms. Heard. The witness said 'I'm a big fan of justice' and this guy says 'Me too. No further questions'. it was brilliant!

    As someone with a psychology degree- this woman completely violated the proper procedures for administering these tests. These tests have set time limits (within the past year, within the past month, etc.) in order to correct and eliminate as much bias as possible. There is NO way to 'adjust' a test for a patient. This shows that there is bias and the potential for memory fabrication, making ALL of her findings void. I wouldn't be surprised if her board certification is revoked. This is an embarrassment to all individuals who perform in the psychological field. She violated the most important and common problem found in psychology- accounting for bias and the prevention of it altering true and credible results. Personally, I hope her licensing is removed, for the sake of the profession as a whole. Fools like this are the reason our profession is a laughing stock.

    As a psychology student, let me poke you a bit: is there some research that indicates memory fabrication increases as the timespan of the incident moves from 12 months ago, to 48 months ago? I.e. couldn't fabrication occur at equal amounts in both time frames? And if the tests have to be timed in order to be valid, how can a psychologist make a reliable determination after that time limit? Are there no techniques or guidelines for these scenarios?

  • @JustJayGray

    @JustJayGray

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@bernlin2000 Oh, great question! From what I learned, each time (I mean EACH TIME) you recall a memory, there is a chance for memory fabrication. This is why stories that are told from years ago should be taken with a grain of salt; if the brain attempts to recreate the event that occurred, there is a likely chance that something will be missed (or omitted), or likely exaggerated. Memory fabrication can occur at any given time; as a psychologist, our goals are to collect data with the least amount of bias and fabrication. Therefore, our tests are set at specific time increments to BEST eliminate these potentials. Of course, each time someone has to recall an event, we (with a grain of salt) attempt to believe our clients. For example: if I were to tell someone how my day went yesterday, I might hit the highlights, but omit the factor that I went to the store. Not that 'going to the store' was an important factor, but it shows how the brain can easily forget or twist information when its pulled back from memory. Sorry for the lecture paragraph, but hope this helps! Feel free to poke me anytime, lol

This doctor is confrontational and looks to be insulted because she gave tests past the one year mark. Wayne Dennison to me was the best attorney on Depps team. In order to effectively cross examine these ‘expert witnesses’ required way more detailed crosses that involved finding fallacies in individuals who are considered experts in their field. Something that is incredibly hard to do since this is what they do for a living so swaying a jury and proving them wrong involves very careful questioning. Camille has a much easier cross because Amber is not as educated and her lies were easier to expose.

Dr. Curry was outstanding, so professional, prepared, and clearly very well at what she does. Depp’s psychiatrist Richard Shaw was excellent too, he was calm, professional, very well educated, and presented himself flawlessly.

    @@sallycooper7677 I understand how it SHOULD be done in a clinical setting, which for the record I mean clinical in the confines of a private practice, not in any sort of clinical trial. When you’re doing it for your own records people don’t always do all of the steps, some don’t do a proper assessment at all. If she knew she was bringing it to court she needed to actually do it by the book not how she does it in her office. That was the point of my comment.
