Johnny Depp lawyer: Amber Heard is a liar who ruined his life -- 'give it back to him'

Johnny Depp's lawyer Camille Vazquez spoke to the jury during closing argument in the actor's defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard, calling Heard a liar who ruined Depp's life. Vazquez implored the jury to give Depp's life back to him, telling them that the only abuser in this courtroom is Heard and Depp is the victim.

Totally agree there has been an unbalance for a long time....I witnessed abuse by women towards men in my own family....and also watched them do nothing and suffer in silence because the culture believes its not possible for women to be abusive and it comes in all forms.....they can and they do ....We have long known men can be ....But women have power wealth and prestiage now too .....The shift may finally come to light because of Mr.Depp good for him.

They did do a great job, but lets not kid ourselves the evidence was always heavily stacked against Amber, anyone would do at least a half-way-decent job. Ambers team also isn't as bad as they seem, those poor people were representing someone who is trying to rationalize everything with thinly veiled lies and mental gymnastics, it's simply impossible for anyone to give Amber a good defense, she really did dig her own grave.

I ALWAYS apologize and own up to my faults as most Borderlines do when they finally realize what they've done. The only thing that could save her at this point is admitting she has a problem that needs treatment and owning up and apologizing for her actions and being an advocate for mental health. I don't see her doing any of that any time soon. It's more on the lines of Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Histrionic Personality Disorder. Borderlines want to get better. Narcissists see no problems or faults in their actions.

Which is why I also believe the BPD diagnosis is inaccurate. BPDs involuntarily lash out, only to regret it later after the strong anger gets replaced by strong regret and shame. The recordings that apparently were "suggestive of BPD" didn't suggest anything other than manipulative sadistic behavior. No person with solely BPD that I know/have heard of immediately switches sides after saying/doing intolerable things, and goes "Please don't leave me, Johnny" the very moment he has had enough. Again, in BPD's case, said intolerable things are done involuntarily, due to poor impulse control and emotional hyperreactivity, not "just because". There was no provokation from Johnny in either of the recordings, nothing that she could have misunderstood. She just loved to see him suffer. I see no love/hate, black-white thinking in any of the public presentations or recordings, nothing Johnny had done to provoke a change in her stance. She never came across as if she loved him in the first place. Citing Wikipedia: "People with BPD are also especially sensitive to feelings of rejection, criticism, isolation, and perceived failure.[29]" She appears to be absolutely unphased by anything. If she really had BPD, some sort of reaction would be expected, unless she's been specially training the poker face for this very occasion. In my opinion, the BPD suggestion should be extincted. It paints those who actually suffer from BPD in a negative way, by associating it to her.

I can't say a 'true victim' because everyone copes differently to their abuses, however, it was her jaw set and defiance of the obvious evidence that made me upset. My own ex, who was very volatile and had narcissist traits would do the exact same thing and try and turn the tables. I wouldn't look at him for fear but more that he would find the weak spot and manipulate me more. If I didn't look he couldn't read me. He was good at finding what I feared as outcome to control me. Amber seems to do that too. Every answer, gesture and stance she takes seems to be either a manipulation on him or public. Saying he CANT look at her is a call out for sure. Just rubbish.

I dated someone with BPD for almost as long as Depp. There's far, far more damage that's dealt than just money or reputation. You are left with psychological and emotional scars you might not ever heal. From emotional whiplash (due to constant devalue/idealize cycle), to feeling constant anxiety (due to emotional or physical 'punishment' when they devalue you), constant fear of confrontation (due to walking on eggshells; one wrong word and you ruin their whole day) and most importantly: Trust issues (from letting someone like them hurt you); both mistrust for yourself and positivity from anyone. You can never quite lower your guard ever again with anyone after being with someone like Heard. It's fairly common to be diagnosed with cPTSD afterwards.

Even if he looses--- he's won by popular vote. Women lying about domestic abuse is nothing new. Women using law and media to destroy men thru false accusations is not new. That’s why men are no longer getting married. Men are not safe anywhere. At home you are threatened with fake domestic abuse accusations and at work you are threatened with fake sexual harassment accusation.
