It was justified then too...Crowd started throwing things at other people, and the band for no reason...Great guy. A literal hometown hero, he has saved so many independant farmers...Many generarional farming families (black, and white), have John to thank personally for them owning their farm land outright...

It's appalling how often they do this. They'll agree to ground-rules to get the person on and then immediately renege. They do this because it makes world headlines when the person gets flustered and chokes or tells them to f**k off and knocks something over on their way out. It's win-win for the reporters, who insist that they are incurably innocent and the celeb is just being their typical fragile diva self.

I’ve seen many journalists/reporters use this same approach in interviews. Barbara Walters, Diana Sawyer, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Piers Morgan, etc. It’s become a thing because media executives saw a pattern of conflict interviews increasingly the number of viewers and their revenue. When the masses collectively stop feeding this it will seriously decline.

@@bklynslipnjimmy This is from a Rolling Stone feature: "But then came his appearance on CBS News Nightwatch, a new late-late-night network news program based in the Big Apple. Everything was going smoothly between Cougar, at ease in baggy sweat shirt and kneeless jeans, and interviewer Felicia Jeter, until Jeter took exception to a salacious video of one of Cougar's songs, which features women in leotards and chains cooing to Cougar's caresses. She began assailing Cougar with unctuously posed but valid questions: Aren't you the establishment now? Don't you have a responsibility? And Cougar, a thirty-one-year-old married man with two children, responded, "I don't go to PTA meetings. I don't go to the Nazarene Church. I don't vote. I don't do any of that stuff." He sounded proud, and a little rattled. Jeter was appalled and continued to press hard, until Cougar unclipped his microphone, muttered some obscenities and walked off the show in midsegment. The Empire strikes back."
