John McEnroe | Club Random with Bill Maher

Ойын-сауық

Listen to the Show on all Podcast Apps "Club Random with Bill Maher" podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...
Bill Maher and John McEnroe randomly riff on how Bill would go “John McEnroe” on bad comedy audiences in the early days, what happened to the one good linesman in tennis, what percentage of cops are good, where John once ranked on the “most hated man in the world” list, comparing Donald Trump to a certain dictator, getting real about Joe Biden and what John texted to Novic Jokovich about his decision at the Australian Open.

Bill Maher, it would be great for you to invite John McEnroe back for further discussion. Tennis too. As most people know, talking about the nuances of tennis gets Mac pretty wound up in a food way. And civil rights to a degree it seems. Good to see him opinionated on subjects yet respectful to most people. And, the way he dislikes the Queen of England for all of that England hierarchy pomp & circumstance. God, I hope Mac lives much longer to see his additional insights.

John McEnroe is great. As a tennis fan, I love it when he's calling the match. I'll watch a match just to hear his commentary, no matter's who is playing. He's great cause he's so honest & will tell it like it is. Good thing he's not on social media cause he probably would've been cancelled. He got in hot water about 5 years ago because he dared to say that he didn't think Serena was the GOAT. It was a big controversy but he stuck to his guns, didn't change his opinion, and refused to apologize for what he said.

The only stupid people here are Bill Maher the pseudo pundit with a phd in fornication from the university of the playboy mansion and John McEnroe who wasn’t mature enough to couldn’t control his anger while playing a children’s game. Mahers stupidity is further demonstrated by his moronic statement that the demented Brandon is doing a good job bringing normal back to the presidency and that this corrupt angry vindictive person is a nice person.

Mr. Maher, We just completed a study in conjunction with the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Urban Justice and the University of Illinois Strive for Equality Project that concluded that out of 245,000 cases studied nationally 2020-2022 where a person was told, "Police, freeze, do not move, and put your hands in the air!", 29,645 failed to heed the warning of an armed law enforcement officer and attempted to flee jeopardizing their life, that officer and any other responding officers lives, as well as the lives of amy citizens who might serve as collateral damage through, crossfire, hostage, or other. In short, the study found only 41 times an officer fired a shot before being shot at and less than 25 times an unarmed, uncooperative assailant was killed. Facts do not support the slightest hint of growing racism, disregard for human rights, or police brutality among our nation's large and small police departments.

I enjoy the tempo of this. John always talks a little slower than average and it seems to allow him to actually THINK before mouthing the words. Many modern people seem to wanna talk fast and endlessly just to keep others from getting a word in, but they end up not actually saying much. John says a lot with few words!

Hey Bill : ( I begin such a salutation because I am Canadian ... Winnipeg MB ) ... I followed you with full commitment with Politically Incorrect. My pals often commented :- " why are you watching that shit!?" My reply was always : " This shit smells better Han your shit. " REAL TIME - - epic ... it has an illustrious landscape and your commitment, your passion, your curiosity, the undeniable willingness to put the tire on the pavement ( Kinetic Energy ) remains undeniable. Important. For those who pay attention. This episode of Club Random is fantastic. Kudos. I just wish there was more discussion in this episode with John's relationship with Borg. They are the best of friends. I also regard John McEnroe as one of THE best sportscasters. I do not say this lightly. I have a top 50 list. And in my humble and meagre opinion, John McEnroe ranks amongst THE best. So, that being said, it was great to watch and listen to this edition of Club Random. Thank you. Be safe. Be well.

Johnny Mac! Love this guy! Had his Nike poster on my wall growing. I blame him for ruining my tennis career before it really got started. I tried to model my game after him... I was able to poorly replicate one aspect of his game and it wasn't his soft touch. Our tennis coach hated me and I quit playing... haha... Anyway, he is still my all time favorite and I love his post tennis career as well.
