I'm not a huge John Mayer fan and have not listened to much of his work, but my younger sister turned me on to his music. We both went to university in Minnesota. Shortly after my discharge from the Navy in 2013 we drove home together to Wisconsin from Minnesota listening to "Paradise Valley" on repeat. I was sold on John Mayer by the time we got home. What a phenomenal album.

Sulphur Recovery Unit? I have been a fan of Stevie Ray for 40 years, and I did notice the font change but never once have I thought that was a U. Stevie Ray was so smooth he turned letters into different letters lol . Now ima play Tin Pan Alley in V-sharp.

I got Asphalt Cowboy in cursive and didn’t notice until later that the line through the t went through the l. So now I have Asphatt Cowboy. 😂

Great story. Couple of factual errors though. 1) the cursive lettering was only on the guitar for a few months- starting in june 1990 at the tonight show to the crash in aug 1990, 2) it actually is the V, not the U, but the V has a more curved bottom. One easy way to tell is that the U has the little nick at the bottom and the V doesnt
