Talking Watches With Ed Sheeran, Hosted By John Mayer

Ойын-сауық

Though he's only recently been lionized as a major collector and watch enthusiast on social media, Ed Sheeran has been a passionate collector for over a decade. I've had the pleasure of getting to know him over the years, both through our shared love of writing music and for collecting, and I'm so glad he agreed to sit down with me for an episode of Talking Watches.
This is Talking Watches with the one and only Ed Sheeran, hosted by yours truly. I hope you enjoy watching this conversation as much as I enjoyed being a part of it. - John Mayer

I think so too. That is why I listen to music and try to get better at song-writing to regenerate. I also got into the hobby of audio gear and started "collecting" iems and audio gear in general for their design, uniqueness and presentation of music, just like they do with watches. I also want to thank Ed Sheeran if he´s reading this for great times with enjoying his music and for bringing out his cool new "project" autumn variations. The way it was done and the emotions behind it showed me new ways of approaching music and often triggered my depressions, which is, in some way shitty, but also shows how much emotion it can trigger and makes me think about different thinks of life. So thanks both of you for this beautiful video of watches and life approach, wish both of you the best for upcoming years.

John Mayer needs to do a series of these this all of his obsessions. Guitars, Amps, Pedals, Mics, Pre's, Outboard Gear, Knives. His collectors mind is fascinating and to see him do this with a bunch of people over a bunch of different topics would be increidble. Would be so cool to combine the different world of collectors.

John is a natural host and the two of them together are so enjoyable to watch. I love when Ed got embarrassed a bit when John called him cool. Shows mutual respect between two of the greatest artists and people our generation has known. Kudos to whoever had this idea. What a fantastic episode. More please!

JM should absolutely keep hosting these. Great guit player, and vox, but his love for watches is truly genuine. This guy gets it, and a lot of other guys don’t. Watches are an obsession, something we can’t live without, and seeing him embrace the addiction like us in true fashion is downright refreshing.

@@ChippyGamingno idea who you are, but I agree with the community side. Sure there are some people who just buy cause they want to flex, but the most seem to really love the art behind it. Like John Mayer talking about the font Lange uses on their dial. It’s that attention to detail and love of mastery of craftsmanship that is what the love is all about IMO

He totally gets what watch collecting is all about. I own 30+ watches and forever my most valuable watch will be the simple quartz Seiko gifted to me by my dad on my 16th birthday.

Been a musician my whole life, and was introduced to watches about 20 years ago. Life, kids, and some major curveballs put a stop to collecting, but as a fan of both of these tremendous artists, and with so much in common with both, this episode was a major refresher for me and I think I did a little soul washing too, by osmosis. Thanks for this and though I'll never own most of these watches, I do always enjoy going in boutiques and stores and seeing them in person. It's almost like meeting a celebrity. Awesome stuff.
