John Denver / Some Days Are Diamonds [1986]

Музыка

▼Some Days Are Diamonds (Some Days Are Stones)
When you asked how I've been here without you
I'd like to say I've been fine and I do
But we both know the truth is hard to come by
And if I told the truth that's not quite true
Some days are diamonds some days are stones
Sometimes the hard times won't leave me alone
Sometimes a cold wind blows a chill in my bones
Some days are diamonds some days are stones
Now the face that I see in my mirror
More and more is a stranger to me
More and more I can see there's a danger
In becoming what I never thought I'd be
Some days are diamonds some days are stones
Sometimes the hard times won't leave me alone
Sometimes a cold wind blows a chill in my bones
Some days are diamonds some days are stones
Some days are diamonds some days are stones
Sometimes the hard times won't leave me alone
But sometimes a cold wind blows a chill in my bones
Some days are diamonds some days are stones
Some days are diamonds some days are stones
Sometimes the hard times won't leave me alone

This song goes through my mind frequently, as it does this quiet Sunday morning on my porch . Recalling my wife of 30 years , but who was called Home 24 years ago after losing a battle with cancer in 1997 . This day is one of stone , but I fondly remember many that were diamond . May she RIP .

You were blessed to have those diamond memories, some people live their whole life and never even have a day of true love. May your wife rest in peace until you meet again for a blessed eternity

This song reminds me of the pain I went through for the past year and half, fighting MRSA in my blood and spine and abdomen. Doctors didn't think I make it. This was the hardest time I ever had in my life . There was a time I just wanted over . I felt so helpless my doctor's said fight it don't give up. You can beat this . I also caught osteomyelitis right behind it . I would scream at the top of my lungs. The pain was so bad. I turned to jelly no strength . Lost all muscle tone . I couldn't clean myself, I lost my self respect my dignity, my self esteem. I wanted to just quit. But I kept on going saying I can beat this. It took 5 operation, and 5 blood transfusion . And being cut all the way around my abdomen. 87 staples two operation on my spine and 1 in my abdomen. to finally eradicate this infection. and on antibiotics 9 months. And by the grace of God I am finally MRSA free of this demon . I never quit and I never gave up. But as of the 26 February 2024 I beat it. I give all the glory to the man up stairs and my family who was my support. And the doctor's. And staff and nurses who put up with my shit . But still stay with me through it all.

I have grown up with John’s music. I am 44 years young. I give my Daddy credit for that. We sang allot of John’s songs together as Dad and Daughter. We sang this particular song when scattering my Grandmas ashes when she died. Jesus called him home December 2 2016. At a remembrance service in 2019 around Christmas I sang verse 1 of this song accupella in memory of Dad. The whole congregation loved 🥰 it.

Dean Cobb ... Sorry for your loss.. I’m listening to this song today because today is definitely stone. We lost our home to hurricane Michael, roughly 6mos later.. we moved into our new home. That was April 2018 June 8 2018, found my wife in the shower, she had a stroke. Ambulance rushed her to the hospital and she survived, the stress of losing everything and starting over took a toll on her. Two months later she was diagnosed with mixed dementia. I’ve been her full time caregiver since I brought her home. Took her to her scheduled doctor appointment last week and was informed there wasn’t anything else that can be done. Just keep on doin what I’m doin, keep giving her medications and love. Today.. she’s havin memory lapses.. We’ve been married 35yrs It’s days like today i wish reality would take a break.. Some days are diamonds , some days are stone... Some days the hard times won’t leave us alone....

Above all, His vocal really make the bottom of our heart pretty fine, clean and cool. Although he'd passed away. Thanks God listening his songs.
