I grew up in the Allegheny Mountains. Kept in touch with John for a little while after that. His song writing ability was something I never thought he got enough credit for. This was a beautiful performance ... but if you want to see the original with Olivia Newton-John joining him , search on YT, ( marked "Christmas Special 1976" ) ... I barely made it thru the Wildlife Concert version here -- but I never make it thru their soft, precious, special Duet.
Sempre nel ♥️♥️
I love John Denver don’t care if someone laughs at that. They’re ignorant
💕24/1/2021💕🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🇧🇷
Olivia Newton-John couldn't join him, so he asked the audience to sing her part, which they did .. if you listen.

"Some wouldn't realize it,but as a fan,I'd much rather hear Olivia Newton-John singing the back-up...

Now I can pursue the process of shaping a sad tone so mellifluous...Perhaps a calm animal or a quiet leaf of a tree has the capability to be enamoured of him...If the truculent rational world would pay heed to ...!!😢💐

I would much rather have heard Pat sing the backing vocals than hear a flute play.
It's really painful to hear this song which sounds like an epitaph.
This is a beautiful rendition, but I'm sorry, it's just not the same without Olivia Newton John. They're trying to use a flute to take the place of her vocals, and it just doesn't cut it.
Er stirb nie!
