John Crist Thinks He’s Being Kidnapped by Phil Robertson & Jase Uncovers an Amish TV Secret | Ep 805

Phil seems confused about how to react to @johnbcrist , comedian and host of the “Net Positive” podcast, when they sit down to talk about the intersection of humor and Christianity. The guys and John discuss the difficulties of making jokes in a Christian community and how comedy works in this day and age. John and Jase manage to crack each other up over people choosing poorly when it comes to biblical names and the reputation of the Robertson family in the Amish community.

John Crist? Exciting!! Edit to add: I really liked the story about John apologizing to the young, pregnant teenager. I had my oldest at 17, and I grew up Catholic. They refused to baptize her after she was born because I wasn't married and didn't adopt her out, and I left the Catholic church after that. Everyone was so positive and supportive of whatever I decided (I kept her), and the place I expected the most support, my church, ostracized me and my baby. I'm 40 and non-denomination now. That was my switch.

I’m so sorry to hear your story just bc the “church” tried to make you feel ashamed to be a loving mother to your child at 17 just bc you weren’t married! This is why I don’t like when ppl ask about what my “religion” is. First of all I’m 62 now but, when I was growing up in church with my parent’s they were Southern Baptist’s. I wasn’t married to my daughter’s Dad when she was born. I was 20 & he was 22 (now deceased). I had her in Nov. 1981. In 1982 when she was a baby I went to church with my parent’s at the church I grew up in (so most everyone in church knew me & my family) for Mother’s Day in May. Even though I wasn’t married & had a precious beautiful baby girl about 6 month’s old the church was giving corsage’s to oldest mother there that day etc… When they called for “youngest mother” at 20 yrs old, I was the youngest mother there. I raised my hand proudly not caring about what anyone else thought bc I had a relationship w/Jesus & knew He loved me where I was. Anyway, I proudly walked up w/my baby girl & the church recognized me as the youngest mother w/a beautiful white lily corsage & huge congregational applause, even though they all knew that I wasn’t married to her Dad. I’m telling you this story bc by the “religion rule’s”standard of this church they could’ve publicly humiliated me by saying, “your not married blah blah” but, they didn’t!! I felt so full of the Holy Spirit’s love that day bc I was proud to be a mother at 20 yrs old, married or not & was “unashamed” of who I was in Christ. So, they honored me as the youngest mother. I also had my baby girl “dedicated” to God in that church still not married to her Dad but living in sin w/him & they allowed it! Today, bc that Southern Baptist Church didn’t turn me away, they loved me anyway, & that really helped me to lead my baby girl’s Dad to Jesus & we were married when she was 5 yrs old!! Jesus want’s us to have a relationship not religion! I attend a non-denominational church to this day. My daughter is 42, battling stage 4 breast cancer w/3 kid’s & 2 grandchildren. She had her first child at 18 & was married to her Dad when their daughter was 3-4 yrs old. She attend’s a “Life Church” where she live’s & still trust’s Jesus as her Lord & Savior. We’re trusting Him to heal her of this cancer & we don’t loose faith or feel ashamed about being sinner’s. Jesus came to save sinner’s which is every human being on this planet! I’m so happy that you have a relationship w/Jesus that the Catholic Church refused to recognize bc of their man made rule’s! However, I am happy you left the Catholic religion as I left the Southern Baptist religion bc their man made “rule’s” do not fit w/our relationship with Jesus! The song say’s, “they’ll know we are Christian’s by our love!” I want you to know how proud I am of you for choosing to keep your child like I did, being unashamed like I was, no matter what the “religion” did to you, recognizing that Jesus came to save you & I as sinner’s, & staying close to Jesus as your best friend like I have chosen to do. We Are Redeemed!!! Praise the Lord God Jehovah & please use your testimony to help other young pregnant unmarried women to choose life for their unborn child!!! You have a wonderful story to share w/them!! I love you & am praying 🙏🏼 for you & your family! ✨Merry Christmas my sister in Christ!

It wasn't a building that fell when they marched around Jericho. It was a wall. When Pentecostals do a "Jericho March" it is to break down walls or barriers that someone in the church or church body is facing. It is a show of faith in what God can and/or will do.

I whipped my mirror out of my pursee and opened it in front of that child and asked him "Is that the last thing you want Jesus to see?" My daughter was shocked but his mom left the line and took the child outside which is what she should have done anyway. The screamer shut up though.

I love the his show and watching Phil watch John has me in tears laughing he just don’t know what to make of that yuppie boy 🤣 I’m a huge John fan also and watching my two favorite Christian entertainers in one show was just amazing! Keep up the good work and most importantly the Lords work!
