    If 'down to earth' means without wit, intelligence, empathy or decency and making the most of his mediocre talents, then sure. An average player, with below average intelligence, trying to forge a new career based on creating division and bringing other people down, he's an excuse of a human being. About the same level as Andrew Tate, so will probably have the same Neanderthal supporters.

    Played in the bottom half of the prem most of his career for relegation clubs basically chasing after people. You’d think he was a superstar listening to him. Decent player but nowhere near as good as he thinks. He moved to a high pressure environment for the first time in his career and couldn’t cope.

    I’ve never heard a guy with so many excuses in my life . I’m a Celtic fan but it’s not even that , n don’t get me wrong we all make mistakes etc but he came up here giving it all the big ones about how he was this and that and he failed big time. It’s constant excuses and blaming every one else. He’s a bully in the changing rooms , many ppl have complained , he’s a thug, he’s soje some nasty shit out of football and if he thinks telling us all he’s a catholic and has Celtic tops does anything other than show us he’s a turn coat and will piss off many rangers fans as well then he’s mistaken . The guys and thug , he had no need to even bring religion up . He’s a confused man , he’s making excuses about his time up here but at same time saying “even if your shit you finish second” He came up here bcos it was an ok wage n he would get games and he thought he could just walk it and would win a league . He won nothing and the the biggest surprise for me on this interview was that he’s actually found his way out of Broonys pocket . Everyone can have there opinion but the guy has a 20 year football career and he’s best remembered for attacking a guy with a cigar , getting sent off many times, taking the huff and attacking two players as he walked off the field after being sent off in a game in England and being owned by broony up here in Scotland . Tells you wll you need to know imo. Now he’s decided woman shouldn’t be allowed to comment on men’s football, the guy will do anything to try and stay relevant . you’ve had many guests James , some who have done the most unthinkable things but most of them at least were very honest . Tbh even up against murderers, extremely violent psychopaths and big gangland enforcers that you’ve had on here still comes across as the lowest yet. Glad to see your still going full pelt tho James and I’m sure there’s more big things for you in your working business life to come . Wish you luck and I’m happy to admit you inspire me and many others.

  • @Anthonys_S

    @Anthonys_S

    4 ай бұрын

    @@richardgallagher4880what? How does this being the first time you’ve heard him speak mean he can’t be a bully ? Maybe I’m just being daft and this was humour that I didn’t get but otherwise if you can’t work out why that’s a weird and wrong comment to make . Did you ever hear hitler speak , if you had of would that mean he’s not a bad guy? Or countless serial killers who were outwardly very gentle but held a dark secret . Not that joey is anything like that I add of course but sticking a cigar in someone’s eyes, his numerous very violent acts on the pitch, former team mates openly speaking of how he was a bully says more than Richard Gallagher4880 opinion in my book I’m afraid . Anyways in the end it doesn’t really matter as we all have our own opinions and I don’t like the guy, I think he’s disingenuous and basically a creep. Even with this interview talking about being a catholic etc all aimed so maybe other fans will think oh he’s not so bad along with the fact that bringing up his religion while talking about having played for rangers only makes more news on sectarianism and the like . I don’t think joey Barton is not a good guy because he played for rangers and I couldn’t care less what religion he was his attitude and actions have proven for many long years that hes an arrogant sod . He’s on a level with guys like Robbie savage who sit and go on about other footballers when the only thing they really are known for is the amount of red cards they got .

    The papers didn't do him any favours and neither did he with so many things over the years. But tbf rangers where rotten for years when they came back up as we know they where going to take a while to catch Celtic. But the players he's played around and his own standards wanted better for rangers by sounds of things. Maybe rubbed them up the wrong way with it but i reckon he wanted the best for rangers same with lee wallace kenny miller and look what happened to them witg bust ups with the manager it was like the same
