De Ligt stated the perfect example Micah, in Joselu’s goal there was a chance that he could be offside, it wasn’t 100% clear, so the ref let the play to continue and finalize, then they used the VAR to confirm it wasn’t. Why didn’t they apply the same logic to the last play for Bayern?

The ref added 9 mins and within that time they had to check Madrid’s goal and waste time on players throwing themselves on the ground. I don’t see how going past the 9 minute mark is called wrong here? And you’re right, the ref also whistled so that caused the Madrid players to stop, which is what the lady here is commenting, first error is from the side ref to raise the flag when is it not 100% accurate that the guy was offside, then the 2nd error came from the ref to whistle and agree with his side ref. 2 errors in one play that was going against Madrid. You’re saying if they went to VAR they would have dropped the goal, I don’t see how De Ligt was offside?

@@pcortes14 only had to add 2-3 min after the 9, but game ended after almost 15 min extra time. so that’s that. and you could literally see de ligts feet ahead of the madrid players. yes i agree ref shouldn’t have blown the whistle & the linesmen should have waited, but it all goes back to him being offside so either way it wouldn’t have counted. doesn’t matter tryna argue, madrid are into the final once again

I guess you don't watch much football games, almost every game there are many mistakes. It only gets big when is with madrid. That doesn't mean it should continue happening. This ef was awful at the world cup, I guess now people we'll see him better. But back then it fulfilled the "narrative" having a shady ref, now not anymore.

VAR is there for that but since the referee blew the whistle, the game stopped. You can see the madrid defenders and goalkeeper also stop playing. If the game hadnt been stopped, then VAR would kick in but since it was and the players stopped playing, what is there to review?

@@Adramelch21 Good point, there were three mistakes: more than 12 min added time, the linesman raised the flag and the referee blew the whistle. The biggest mistake was the referee's though. Some thoughts. The ball came to Hoselu from Rudiger, whithout interrupting from Bayern players, so the referee didn't blow the whistle. But when it was Bayern attack the ball came from Rudiger, so Marciniak blew it. Still bad decision from the referee. Buuuuuuut. He could stop the game at 90+13 and everything would be absolutely superb, don't you think?

@@HighSpeedForLives12 minutes weren’t a mistake. If you have 2 substitutions, a some var checks and some fouls in extra time, that will be put on top. During those 9 minutes of extra time, the ball was in play for maybe 3 minutes. So adding some time is absolutely legit.

These refs have made mistakes before. Like in the PSG Newcastle game, and they weren't held accountable. That right there shows that this is rigged from higher up the chain of command.

wouldn't happen? You saw that second Joselu Goal which was checked by VAR? It would have been the same if they immediately whistled when Rudiger got the ball. Then the situation would be equal. But no, they let the game go on, they scored and checked AFTERWARDS. But for Bayern they cut the game by whistling instead of waiting for the action to be over. The offside of bayern was in min 13 when the game only had 9 extra time xD. The referee didn't know what to do to let bayern score and let them continue playing till minute 15-16 extra. When madrid scored he didnt even want to check the var and was about to restart the game because he knew it was wrong, but the var guys forced him to check it

I'd say the real error was that the situation was supposed to be played out first, and then confirm the offside. The Bayern players were actually just very slightly offside, in my opinion, but in any case, that should've been left to be a VAR decision. If the whistle wasn't blown, Real would've likely defended better anyway.

Christina is the first person in her position, to finally call the refereeing decisions out for being so disgraceful. It’s been going on for years. Finally a whistleblower. That decision ruined what was a magical game. Should have seen another 30minutes of football.

The only mistake was that the referee added 12 minutes (!) to the game. For absolutely no reason. Why? And btw that was clear offside. The defenders stopped playing, so what goal we are even talking about? I had enough of this BS.

Listen, Real made a great comeback. Respect to Joselu for being in the right spot at the right time, but that whistle was ridiculous, and I would not mind never seeing this trio reffing a game on this level again. I would've loved to see the overtime.

The linesman shouldn't have blown his whistle there buy you can see the Madrid players switch off when they hear the whistle, had the ref let it play out you can argue the Madrid defense would have shut down the situation and Lunin wouldn't stand still. Reminds me of when Madrid came back from 0-2 down against Valencia only for the ref to blow the whistle right before Bellingham put the possible game winner in the net and the match ended 2-2, it stung but you can argue the same that if the ref doesn't blow the whistle the Valencia players are paying attention to prevent that possible game winner.
