Joe as the postie in After Life reminded me that when I was driving for Parcelforce back at the beginning of the 90's, a young woman once asked me if I wanted to come in and play on the Megadrive pinball game (Devil's Crash? Been a long time.) I saw on her TV as I passed the front room window, and asked her if it was a good game. I was actually very busy so I politely declined. But it gave the rest of the driver's a good laugh as an anecdote down the pub later that night. With them commenting that knowing how into my video games I was, they could imagine me still sitting there playing the game on her sofa, cup of coffee in hand as her husband arrived home from work later, to find a Parcelforce lorry blocking his driveway.. lol

This idea that people cannot say anything that goes against the (evolving by the day) trans ideology, lest they be labelled a transphobe, is extremely tiring. Very few people now associate that word -- transphobe -- with an actual nasty/evil/bad person. It's lost all emotional power. Nobody cares now. And that's not to say that it's good to be horrible to transgender people. It isn't. It's just to say that the overreach has been so extreme that it's lost all meaning as a pejorative.

It's just a shame After life was so badly written. It was lazy. Repetitive, kept going around in circles. Stephen Merchant was the driving force behind the depth in the writing duo and without him, Ricky just has a show where his views are parroted in such a caricaturistic manner it just becomes crass. I was so disappointed by it. Season 1 was brilliant, then it went downhill.
