"Yesterday's Yesterday" - Shapeshifting Track-by-track #13, Part 1
Listen to Joe Satriani: joesatriani.lnk.to/Shapeshift...
Shapeshifting's final track, “Yesterday’s Yesterday,” is probably a surprise to some seasoned Satriani fans. All about celebrating great memories with great people, it’s a sweet acoustic song that features a thumping bass, slamming drums, and a twanging mandolin. In this track-by-track, Joe talks about how fooling around with an acoustic guitar turned into this fun, star-studded closing track.

Lovely bookend to a great record! This goes back to the early albums when it's not all rock all the time, and showcases a lot of variety. Great lesson for musicians. 🙂

My favorite track on the album. Yup, I said it. It got its hook in me and would not let go. I had to listen to it over and over, and I had to try to play it, too. Love this song.

Sorry Joe, guys, I need to skip this track every time, I can't stand it. Not a folk fan. Quite content with the other 12 tracks - a very diverse sounding album, probably the most diverse Satriani album since Not Of This Earth. Perhaps more so.
