this is the most badass song I've ever heard. only one of many examples that show why satch is at the very top level of electric guitarists in the history of mankind... and most cirtainly one of the dominant influences on me as a guitarist - even 10,000 miles across the planet...
@Meandroid14 жыл бұрын
Even his own awesomeness is too much to bear during that solo that he has to sit down to stay conscious.

I have seen Satriani, Vai n Petrucci live once and I must say it has to be one of the best things that ever happened to me, They are all experts at their game and their music is... well, what the hell. God-Like. Zeus would be dancing on his cloud!

this is possibly the coolest thing ive ever seen.. it sounds like its 50 years in the future with flying cars and robots.. yet he made it 20 years ago :/ its just crazy stuff

Man, this takes me back. First song I ever heard by Satch, I was in high school in the 80's the melody is so heavy and his technique is sick. He's loving playing this. Good times.
@matrags14 жыл бұрын
I think Satch has a great talent for melody, more so than any other guitarist out there.

I've always loved this song but I'd never seen it played. Now that I have, it is officially the most wicked thing I've ever seen.

I agree, and I think it's interesting that the improvised part sounds better than the note-for-note-and-no-space-for-emotion-solo. Satriani + improvisation = teh win.

Plus when you go to a concert you really have the time to appreciate the music. As a musician there is always something special about hearing someone playing their songs live that is unmatched by anything, people screw up, but if they can pull off their stuff live it proves a lot about them. There is a difference between 'studio guitarists' and rock legends. Herman Li is one of the people who is more of a studio guy because he's too drunk to even play live.

Written sitting down in a low chair with the guitar slung high."Nine months later,we're out on the road,and I realize,I can't play this thing with the guitar down low,looking cool.And I wasn't going to sit down on stage...We kind of shelved the song,but it turned into a fan favorite...We like playing it now...We call kind of figured out what to do with it." -Satchnotes[dot]com
@Bysler16 жыл бұрын
You all misunderstood me. If you read well, i never said that he was playing wrong or anything alike. I have watched a lot of videos from Satriani and he never play guitar in that position when doing the solo (like Petrucci does). It just something that i noticed, but i'm not questioning his skill to play that solo.
@BFahz16 жыл бұрын
hardest solo he plays....
@kronosecw15 жыл бұрын
Joe *could* play it standing up but it rank around a 6/10 on the awesomeness level instead of a 10/10 with the chair. And Joe doesn't do stuff he's not satisfied with. Hence why he retired the song after one or two plays, and why he never played, "Day at the Beach" live either.
