All three are immensely talented, but the more I see of Gilbert the more I realize how he has literally mastered his craft. Simply one of the greatest who ever lived. Thank you Paul.

Amazing guitarists...that being said....Gilbert has the best phrasing.....it's just heavenly!

Incredible! Satriani: The patron saint of instrumental shredding. Gilbert: One of the most technically skilled players ever. Petrucci: Fantastic composer and the most influencial guitarist in prog metal.

what made me so impressed with Paul Gilbert is that he not only enjoyed his guitar playing alone, but he also enjoyed what his partners are playing... the way he 'feels the moment' when Joe Satriani and John Petrucci are playing their guitar... the thing I rarely found from any other great guitarists in this world...

I've seen that same look of elation on both Joe and Vai in person. Usually it's when they're watching one of the others like Tony MacAlpine, Steve Morse, Petrucci, etc. They're a great eclectic mix of guys that have no peers but one another.

Satriani doesn’t try to blow your head off with technique or theatrics, but everything he plays fits the song, he seems to always play the right thing for the moment.

But he must be a bitch to play with..especially for Campatelli; Satch sometimes drags out the end of the song with dive-bombs and pig- squeals that never seem to end! ;)

I love the look on the faces of Paul and Petrucci when Joe starts his first solo at 1:50/1:55 or so - it's like they both thought, like we would - 'Hey, man, it JOE SATRIANI!' The tone and musicality seemed to strike a chord with them.

The Three Kings. Absolutely Brilliant. One of the best jams I have heard. I really hope this makes it to DVD or CD one day.

Everything in this video is so amazing! It is just perfect. My favorite part is around 4:25 or so when Paul and Satriani start doing these incredible guitar parts that feed off each other so well. It is amazing how talented these musicians are and yet how humble they are! I can't stop watching this video. By far my favorite guitar video.

It is just amazing that these guitarists, as well as many others, have such a feel for playing that it is just effortless for them to express themselves musically and emotionally through their instruments. That's what years of persistent practice does for someone willing to put in the time and effort.

Satch is No.1 because he knows WHEN to play and when to lay low. It's not about how many notes you can play. It's playing with feeling and soul. If your playing can flood your audience with inspiration and passion, then that is all that matters. Satriani has soul and passion like no other player. Because of that, he has them all beat hands down. Rock on Mr. Satriani, Rock on!

I think if you make it to the top 100 guitarists, then you are the worlds best! There is no worlds absolute best, there can be more than one! I missed Joe in Australia on his last tour as my father was dieing from cancer, I hope he come out again soon as I want to shake his hand. His music has kept me positive/sane since 1991.

Anyone who thinks that these guys aren't tasteful should watch this. Simply beautiful.

MAN I love each one of their tones! GIlbert has that rock n roll single coil twang sound, Petrucci's has this amazing ambient edge almost vocal like too, and Satriani's has this exotic great singing tone.

I love watching Paul bliss out at Joe;s tone at 1.56 or so. And then John looks over to give a little nod - like, 'Hey, man, Joe Satriani. Phuw.' I just listened to this for an hour. It could be my favourite youtube guitar moment. Thank you.

I saw this show in Phoenix, and it was an incredible show. These G3's are a one of a kind show. When they played this tune, Paul Gilbert was feelin it. Its an emotional song especially when Joe plays it live. You could tell once Paul Gilbert walked out jamming this, that he was lovin it. Its kind of weird that Satch will be in Denver October 4th for Elephants of Mars, and just down the way Michael Schenker and Mr. Big are playing the same night. Same time as well.

these 3 guys all are at the head of the craft and each one has such a unique style and tone. I love listening to 'em!

a magical combination of amazing virtuosos. the harmony between those 3 on that was astounding and full of emotion and beautiful melodies. I draw inspiration from satch petrucci and gilbert in my playing.

I've been looking for all of these. I saw them at Warner theater in DC and the final jam was so fantastic. When they hit the jamming crescendo, it was like butter.

They are all great.

I love Satch and Paul. You can tell by the looks on their faces that they love what they do. That being able to wake up and play music everyday of their lives is just the best thing in the world to them. Music is all about expression and feeling, and while a lot of people argue that shredders don't have feeling or taste, all it take is one look at these guys to disprove that.

My favourite part of this video, is 3 of my favourite guitarists feeding off each other...and you can tell theyre having a blast jamming together...to experience that would have been incredible...i love how they laugh when one of them hits a really sweet spot.

I love how Paul has the simplest rig of all three of them and still gets the amazing tones he is getting. Petrucci's setup is big and bulky but sounds great and Satch's setup is kinda big too and sounds great.

3 of the best I've ever seen :D..... I hope someday play along w true musicians like these in the future :)
