Youve to be considering to your translator , pause and let then translate if they need and proceed. Otherwise its a lot more to remember and leads to misunderstandings or missing words

It's because every single Cuban is definitely not ilitirate when it comes to the Spanish Language. We all know by know how USA and its secret egencies have been operating around the world. The sanction against Cuba made them Materialisticaly poor. But there was no one starving nor ilitirate cause school/University is free over there... @@Blank-km4qr Cuban Spanish is the hardest to understand IMO, with Colombian being the easiest. At least from my point of view as a Brazilian native.

Joey's translations are very dramatic, often with poetic licence. No vale la pena.=It's not worth it. Joey: It's not with the fucking anguish. Encontraron sus cadáveres en la jungla.=They found their bodies in the jungles. Joey: The found their corpses in the jungle, eaten by lions or some shit.

Super Fantastic Top 10 you have to take into account how old Joey was when he came here, 3. My dad was 9 when he came from Cuba. You don’t lose the language, but you do lose the natural development/progression of the language, once you no longer live there.

I met Yoel at the swimming pool of Cerro Pelado, the high performance athlete training center in Havana. That was long ago, when he lost the gold medal fight against the Russian fighter in the Olympics, I don't remember his name. Anyways that was long ago. He looked so scary on tv and in person, but he was so humble. I asked him what had happen that he lost to the Russian and he just answered "because he was better than me". Respect.

noedimas people seem to think “religion” is blind belief in something.. That is not so.. Maybe false religions are.. But not true Christianity.. Its just that people aren’t willing to look and seek TRULY, and accept whatever the implications may be if it is Truth... So they never get to know.. And most people are lost.. People either assume that it is “blind faith” and you cannot know.. and so they never seek. OR They are unwilling to accept whatever the consequences and implications may be if it is real.. I don’t understand Spanish but I can tell this dude speaks very well. You can tell the huge difference in Spanish dialects from Mexico to Puerto Rico to Dominican to Cuban. Cubans have a certain charisma when they talk even Joey sounds smart when you hear him speak Spanish.

I honestly wasn't a huge fan of Yoel before the podcast but after watching it's super hard to hate him, he's so humble and friendly and down to earth. The guy just wants to live life happily and truly wants that for others as well. Mad respect to him

4 years later and I still gained more respect for Yoel than I already had. He's an awesome human being and deserves the utmost respect. I'm a huge fan of Yoel and he deserves it. Yoel is such a role model and a monster athlete and a nightmare in the cage but he’s so respectful and such a warm hearted person like one of my favorite ufc moments ever was I believe Yoel’s second fight with Robert Whittaker at the end when they were announcing the results and Yoel just goes over and leans on Robert and it was such a heartwarming moment seeing them embrace with both fighters exhausted after giving everything they had as a person who is training and learning to become a professional mma fighter I felt that moment so hard

Plus different dialects of spanish have different words. My wife is Mexican and she can understand it all, but a few words are different and need clarification unless you are from cuba, argentina, spain etc.

Yoel Romero is a beautiful human being. He stays so humble and is so respectful of everyone he comes in contact with. There are many people that are successful who say the right things when they are on camera, but there are not many who live their lives like that when no one is watching. Next time you are having a not so great day, think about what kind of day someone else has endured just for the chance to have the kind of day you are having.

Joey’s translation did not do what Yoel said justice .. he said that the man had to watch his wife getting raped by 12 men and could do nothing to stop it .. he did not use the word rape but I doubt it was “consensual”

hcamp 95 While that's true, English is considered great because its associated with better life and opportunities. Spanish will open the world to a person who speaks it, but its not associated in the same manor as English. Spanish will open up travel opportunity but not necessarily a better life or quality of life with it. Chinese is first because they have billions of people and many many languages which gets lumped together. You can clear that up a little better with a search and a few minutes. 😁 The power is yours!

Ranking it against most translations I hear it was excellent. Joey got the spirit of the thing and was able to translate in a very dramatic but casual nature. It was pleasant to listen to and easy to understand.

yes its crazy, they have beautiful olive skin and they just want to be white. unfortunately the darker skinned Argentines are seen as a lower class and they actually call them negros.

Thus, when we come to the United States (Cubans) we are extremely grateful to this country and its people. Other immigrants give us crap for liking the USA. I absolutely love Yoel. Amazing guy, so interesting to hear his thoughts. I so rarely get to hear them due to the language barrier.

Despite the barrier of english and español, Yoel and Joey made clear their feelings and ideals to explain. Awesome podcast

I didn't know how well Joey would translate in this episode, but his translation is brilliant the whole time, doesn't paraphrase, just translates word for word.

This interview hits home. My family also left Cuba where they lost all their property and were all separated in their journey to the States. By the grace of God after many struggles ended up Miami.

All respect to Yoel Romero.. he’s really one of the guys that would do everything possible to deescalate a fight. And he’s a very well spoken dude. Cubans tend to be very well educated. It doesn’t surprise me because I’ve met many Cubans.
