@nealspencer7901
4 жыл бұрын
Jim Bradley, I think you need to loosen up. Like I said, it was a harmless joke, not meant to be taken literally, and though you might have found it stupid and unfunny at least 295 people apparently beg to differ, which I think speaks for itself. Most people understand the purpose of martial arts, I mean it’s not exactly rocket science, so you also aren’t really making some grand revelation when you say it’s for self defense and building discipline. Again, the original comment was clearly a joke. You don’t have to like it, but you were were meant to just laugh (or not) and move on, not toot your own horn with some worthless truisms and then end with “you’re welcome” like you said something of actual value.
@nealspencer7901
4 жыл бұрын
Jim Bradley I’m not quite sure what you’re saying because I can barely understand it, but the point was to move on in the first place. You don’t move on when you leave a moronic comment showing you clearly don’t understand what a joke is. Take a writing class.

It’s awesome to see a man never ask for a favor because of his celebrity status. Dude stayed a brown belt for 8 years and never once asked about his promotion. Just kept working when and where he could with his schedule and he eventually reached his black belt. Awesome of Eddie to not fold and just give it to him because of who he is and how much he helped Eddie get that school off the ground. I’m many years late but this is such a cool video. +Gggmanlives I was actually in that line too... but the camera panned off as I stepped up to him.... it was coincidence it panned off, but had it stayed focused on my approach, you would see that I am the only person in that line who did not hug Joe..... What I did was walk up to Joe, flared open my nostrils, then gave him a little snear-like grin.... Then I lifted up my right leg, split open my crack by holding up my buttcheek with my right hand, and frumpted out a nice wet fart for him to think about.... Then I walked right by Joe (shrugging him)..... Joe then turned and faced the next person and gave him a hug, but immediately realized that he was standing in the midst of the crop dust I left behind..... He NEEDED to get out of the fartstorm, so he moved a couple steps forward after each hug he gave out..... but once the smoke cleared, so much fecal matter stemmed from the fart air had clogged his nostrilpubes and he couldn't breath afterward.... The camera stopped rolling when this happened, but he ended up passing out and was taken to the ER.... Joe plans on talking about these events in his next podcast though..... at least that's what I hear. All of this is based on fact.

@empbac Do you have a source on that? Source? A source. I need a source. Sorry, I mean I need a source that explicitly states your argument. This is just tangential to the discussion. No, you can't make inferences and observations from the sources you've gathered. Any additional comments from you MUST be a subset of the information from the sources you've gathered. You can't make normative statements from empirical evidence. Do you have a degree in that field? A college degree? In that field? Then your arguments are invalid. No, it doesn't matter how close those data points are correlated. Correlation does not equal causation. Correlation does not equal causation. CORRELATION. DOES. NOT. EQUAL. CAUSATION. You still haven't provided me a valid source yet. Nope, still haven't.

I'd say the fact that Eddie had his very best friend in the world stay at Brown Belt for 8 years before he was convinced he deserved the black belt is a pretty solid indicator that Joe was treated the same as any other person in the gym with regards to belts. Bravo is a BJJ black belt under the Machados, he might be a stoner that likes to talk about 9/11 being an inside job and the earth being flat, but when it comes to martial arts he is about as old school and dead serious as they get.

@nealspencer7901

There are many lessons to take out of this video and moment!

Nope, still haven't.

he did the right thing waiting longer to give the black belt. it was the best thing for his reputation and theirs. proved to everyone he truly earned it and his star power mattered not. well deserved!!
Seeing Joe Rogan out of his studio is like seeing one of your teachers outside of school
I dunno how this came up on my suggested videos now, but this is cool. Not just that Joe got his black belt, but that Eddie didn’t fast track him, and Joe’s words at the end were perfect. 💪👊
Congratz to Joe. His jiu jitsu must be even better now in 2015. It's no joke getting a Black Belt from a master like Eddie Bravo. Friends or not,that guy is not messing around with his BJJ. One of the top guys in the world. Best regards to him and his crew!
Regular people would spend hours thinking and writing that speech. Joe just wings it on the spot. Legend

He just spoke from the heart about principles that worked for him. Anyone can give a speech, but it won't be real or affect people unless it comes from your heart. You could do it too, talk about something that really impacted you and worked for you passionately. You will sound just as a amazing I assure you.

Just be honest and it flows out of you, if you are a fake person with a nice big facade, it takes hours to conjure op what you see as the perfect way to play people.. And its all manipulative when you do that, and fake as fuck, and guess what, people know, they can sense the lies.
Damn! I thought we'd get to see him roll. Isn't that how promotions are usually done?

That's grammatically worse than the original comment and less accurate since the implication of the comment was that this is similar to a 10th degree black belt as opposed to 10 black belts from 10 different institutions. Good burn.
