i saw duncan trussell at a live podcast recording in new york city in 2016. at the time i was very depressed, and something that really helped me was a video called "Duncan Trussell on Depression" where he puts it into such a good perspective... i was able to speak to him after the show, and i explained this all to him briefly, then thanked him and started walking away. he grabbed my shoulder and said "woah woah wait.... how are you doing though?" and continued to talk to me more about my path to fight depression. that conversation helped me so much and is a moment i will never forget. duncan, if you somehow read this, thank you ... and IM OUT OF THE WOODS.

I needed this episode. I've been a fan of the JRE since probably the 40th episode. Used to watch them religiously...now I watch when I'm interested in a guest. Still love the show. But Duncan has always been my favorite guest. Been a fan of his own podcast since the "Lavendar Hour" days. Seems like forever ago. Anyway.......the used book store where I work closed down about a week ago. Then, 3 days ago the first case in our county was reported....and the guy literally lives 3 houses away from my parents. No shitting. Now we have 5 cases...that we even know of. I know someone who currently had a bad cough and fever...and called to get tested, and was rejected....because he didn't meet the "criteria." It's fucking bizarre. There's way more cases than we even realize... So yeah, this got very real very quick. I've worked at my job for 3 years now and love it. And now...will the business itself be able to rebound when this is over? And....WHEN will it really be over? No one knows. So yeah....I'm concerned. This virus isn't a joke and neither are all the many many dominoes of our society it has knocked down already. And this is really just the very beginning...we pretty much know this will last for quite a few months. SO.....................all that to say, I really needed this episode. Sorry about venting...I know a LOT of people are feeling the same damn thing.

We should've known long ago watching stoners would be entertaining. Cheech and Chong were before their time. They would've had a podcast just as successful.

Love you Joe and Duncan, might be unlikely to see you irl but that's added to my goals. The internet is amazing, I can watch people I love at any moment and get their wisdom in my head
I f......love the interview with Duncan! You two are epic! !!! Un ending fun 😊
Watching Duncan expressively move around as he talks, with his mask and glasses, the tendrils off his head wildly dancing around, his awesomely funny, compassionate and shrill voice...i'm convinced he spawned straight out of a 3am Adult Swim cartoon for our pleasure.

Lol done underestimate 60 year olds.... They are the original hippies who were into this stuff before anyone knew what it was. Whole lot of old hippies out there who were poppin acid and having these conversations way more that most young people ever will again. All these people that Joe and Dunk learned most of their stuff from are probably in their 60s and 70s lol.
I paid 15.99 a month to KZread premium so I can download this conversation. TY JRE. This was amazing after watching doctor strange multiverse of madness. I’m locked in to this interaction.

Lol damn bro... I’ve been paying for premium since it came out back in 2016 or 17’. Was like $9 back then. It’s worth it in my opinion especially if you hate commercials like me or just wanna hear channels in the background while doing other shit on the phone. This is a good episode tho... Hope you smoked a few while listening lol
The best thing I’ve done lately is sit down and play these vids while drawing.
I wish I had friends mature enough to have these kinds of conversations with.

You should have more podcast episodes like this. It really helped with the vibe of the kind of depth that you guys were going into. Had I been able to take you seriously at times (without the costumes) I probably would have felt a few spells of anxiety. We need the occasional faint fear of anxiety. Will you consider doing more episodes with this kind of theme?
