Max Tim I felt sorry for Joaquin. You can see he’s more of an introvert. He looked so uncomfortable after that clip was played, and he’s also not that comfortable talking about himself on a personal level. Joaquin has nothing to be embarrassed about. We all have moments where we get frustrated or annoyed with someone. It's a human thing. Making a film is no easy task, the good ones aren't anyway. So yeah I can imagine anyone, no matter how gentle of soul you are normally, you may crack at one point or another. I'm a very kind person, have I snapped at people before? Many times.

I’m in love with his voice. It has a little "je ne sais quoi" that makes it so special, and fitting for his roles.

I really love Joaquin Phoenix. He is an incredible actor. The transformation he goes through physically and mentally as he evolves into the Joker was unbelievable. He is really funny and sweet and had to exercise such powerful restraint dealing with the awful interviewer Jimmy Kimmel. Talk about not knowing the actor. He talks to a vegan about going to Sizzler. Wtf? Joaquin Phoenix is so passionate and intense.

Joaquin did such an amazing job in this movie I didn't think anyone would come close to Heath Ledger's joker but his was a much darker and like more serious version but it's amazing how well he nailed this performance can't wait for the sequel

Gladiator is my favorite movie in the world! I watched it since I was probably 5. I sort of grew up "hating" Joaquin for his role as Commodus. Growing up I realized that he was so talented and amazing in this movie that he made the audience hate him. One of my favorite movies of all time, seen it twice in theaters and paid full price, really hits home if you deal or known someone who dealt with mental illnesses and how little society/insurance to help. I’ve been there and Joaquin lived the role. And that’s a very scary thing to do.

I can’t believe Jimmy exposed this moment for everyone. I work on sets and it’s very common and NORMAL for actors to be in emotional rollercoasters during the filming. Acting is a very emotionally challenging thing, it requiers you to be very vonurable and dive deep into layers of intense emotions and trauma, often on a tight scedule while an entire team is watching and judging. As a film worker you have to keep that in mind and be patient. We aren’t robots EDIT: English is not my first language, sorry for any misspelling

Joaquin is plain and simple, one of the greatest character actors of all time, and definitely one of, if not the best alive today.

Hold on though..Is he doing that Letterman thing again?..Yes Kimmel isn't being great but I'm getting the same vibes like he was presenting in that Letterman interview where it looked like everyone was laughing at him supposedly being serious with the beard and all but later turned out he was just acting and was a bit more lighthearted in the subsequent interview. I'm sure I'm overanalyzing but the movie is still fresh and this type of interview actually helps the movie

@@rorisang8602 Yeah I haven't seen the movie yet but I've seen enough of him and what first set me off what when he put his foot on the couch and the way he was trying to look serious about break dancing ..His documentary also explored the whole reality TV world where people buy into all the fake acting just because it comes under "reality TV"

@@SARYM911 yes this one was staged, there is another interview with phoenix but this time with fallon instead, and phoenix was act totally different there he was joking around and even switched place with fallon and started intervieweing him instead with fallon pretending to be the actor and joking about todd philips.

His voice is like in the movie. And he's on a talk show. Scary....

Man I understand why he felt embarrassed. But the performance that was given demands concentration and creating a very organic and specific mind set to deliver and do justice to the film. I'd struggle to recite the alphabet under that sort of film making pressure. Much love and respect

I completely agree with Joaquin. Like dude he's trying to work and the scene where he's in that particular makeup is super serious so why whisper there? It's amazing he was able to create such a serious, emotional scene right there. Oh and btw, just watched this movie for the first time. Yep, in 2024! I'm a bit late to the show I know lol. At 7:39, I excitedly waited for Joaquin to get even with Jimmy for teasing him, just like when he shot De Niro in the movie. 🤣 But, I also couldn't help but notice that Jimmy forgot what he was saying after seeing Joaquin's serious face. I love you Joaquin ❤, you are one of the greatest actor

Took some balls to be willing to follow Ledger's Joker but I think Joaquin pulled it off. Both performances were outstanding in their own way.
