Um, duh. Are there seriously a rational and knowledgeable MMA fans who don't think Joanna is the P4P #1? Ronda's stand-up game is piss-poor, whereas Joanna has no glaring holes in her game.

Anyone check out Doo Ho Choi. Everyone needs to have their eye on him. Future #1 contender.

+Imhim247 Just my opinion bro, but this fight lacked the drama usually attached to most fights considered FOTY. There was really only one huge momentum swing in the fight, Claudia had nothing left after the second round. It's a testament to her heart and a desire to win that she was able to stay in there win someone as dangerous as Joanna and not get finished. Still a good fight but it lacked the monumental moments that make a fight timeless.

+Chinh Tran Really? Tate really showed just how insane her will to win is, she was losing on the scorecards and dug so deep to take that belt I was truly impressed. My choice would be Lawler vs Condit, so much blood was shed, so much damage absorbed, but neither fighter gave an inch it was truly incredible I will never forget Robbie Lawler's title reign, his fights with McDonald and Condit are fights of legend. The image of Condit and Lawler leaning on the cage simultaneously in complete exhaustion after standing and trading strikes the entire fifth round is what mixed martial arts is all about and it will forever be burned in my memory.

Yeah, Thug Rose is a monster and she's like 24. If she wins the fight against Karolina (another Polish beast) she is certainly the next in line to challenge Joanna Champion... My only concern will be if she is ready for Jedrzejczyk but to think of it NOBODY is ready for JJ :D Love both of them and I am sure they will meet each other sometime in their careers

I seldom comment on MMA threads, since it's not my area of expertise at all. But, hey, that seldom stops most MMA thread commentators, so why not... I think that Rose is interesting for a few reasons: 1. Both Rose and Joanna like to kick, but Joanna seldom does, because she risks a take-down. Even against a stand-up person like Valerie she threw few kicks (though a couple of those were brutal.) Rose, OTOH, will have zero limitations on her kicking, since she would like it to take it to the ground, but unlike the other take wrestler types she has some really good kicks. That'll give her a weapon to keep Joanna at range that perhaps some others haven't had. OTOH, any kick that Joanna throws will be a risk against Rose, though I'm sure she'll get some in. 2. Joanna's striking is top of the heap, but Rose arguably has more area under the curve overall. Again, she's not the war tank wrestler who you have to frustrate just until their own mass and exertions tires them. She's also high cardio, and a tricky submission artist. She's not going to waste time trying to force Joanna to the ground, nor does she have to stand back and telegraph that she's looking for a take-down the whole fight. She can hide her take down attempts behind good stand-up and be opportunistic about it, while still scoring points on the feet. 3. And, once on the ground, she's not a (talented but) conventional wrestler like CG, she's very creative and doesn't depend on brute force. JJ has a really high fight IQ, but Rose does too and she can find oblique opportunities while you are trying to get away from her, that someone like CG wouldn't likely, because she has more weapons via which to apply that IQ. 4. And there's the fact that, on top of the other stuff above, Rose is someone who has the speed to help her avoid being blitzed by JJ. She's light on her feet and isn't going to necessarily become a punching bag unable to get away from JJ's fists, because she can move in and out quickly just like JJ does. Maybe not quite as quickly, but nothing like a CG, or even Valerie. She can be up on her toes as long as JJ can most likely, and I'm guessing will be burning less fuel most of the time as well. So, anyhoo, I think it may not be as one sided as many folks think. There's a huge tendency in this community for wild swings of opinion. If Rose were to beat JJ, suddenly everyone will be talking about everyone she fought before was a bum, and she was always one dimensional, and of course they, unlike all the other fools, was able to see that and knew she was going to lose.
