@@robertm2000 Check out Christine's indie releases FIREWORKS, RECKONING and more recently TURN TO ME. Just avoid the LIVE album with her band THE CODE from a winery. Sounds like a contractual obligation that never shoulda been released due to sound quality. I remain confused as to why more young bands and artists haven't recorded her material. Bonnie Raitt, especially, has issued some albums with weak material and I can think of a dozen songs Christine has written and cut with The Code and with Cale under various names that coulda connected. Jazz singers especially should check out her songwriting on these albums for fresh sounding material that has that intimate quality associated with true artists like Cale... Christine Lakeland's facial expressions are out of this world! She makes the Devil in Disguise come alive!
You can tell they made each other very happy.
With his Tulsa feel, great songwriting, modesty and Christine, JJ had it all, man.RIP
The Love for him shines in her eyes a real blessed man indeed
I love how admiringly and lovingly she looks at him while playing :)

What a WARM recording .... Cale and Lakeland in a real Heart embracement !!!' JJ we love you !! :-) - and Christine .... Carry on !!!!
...see the love they share through a song (nice one by the way), music, in their eyes; really magic and trully nice, as nice as they are, despite JJ left us, what a pitty... I hope it's not too hard for Christine (Lakeland) Cale, may God help her to keep on her way, in memory of her missed man, so sad.

Christina flirting to J.J.Cale and and J.J.laughing back. I love this kind of simplicity it's fresh and easy to listening.
I bought “Naturally” when it first came out in ‘72 and fell in love with his music. I have every album he ever did. It’s fantastic to see a video of his studio work.

No bullshit no glitter n glam just pure musical artistry ! Saw him in Melbourne, Australia near 59 years ago n I was hooked! Much letter Eric Clapton became hooked also! JJ Cale made beautiful music like very few others, if he had really wanted he would've been huge but this, Artist never looked for that he, was content playing the beautiful music he wrote n every song he ever wrote was above standard of a top hit! Rip JJ u were one of a kind,! Melbourne, Australia

From the California shore to New York City The beat don't never stop You can hear it on the radio anywhere you go It's steady as the rhythm of a clock It cuts through the noise of the city life It won't seem to go away It's the devil in disguise I tell you no lies My fingers do the walking everyday Yonder comes a young girl she wants to take a whirl She thinks it's all a dream She got rock and roll way down in her soul She wants to know where's the limousine Get up honey let your mama sit down You're too young anyway The devil in disguise give her the prize Then you can carry her away When the road I travel starts to unravel Every which way it goes The beat starts to press on my bullet proof vest And my high turns out to be low Give me my guitar I'm going to go far Let me see it let me hold it in my hand I'm the devil in disguise I tell you no lies I'm playing in a rock 'n roll band Oversett til norsk
I think this is the greatest collaboration of voices that ever has been achieved. And God I do love her
This is Love !😘

Saw JJ live at the Armadillo World Headquarters, Austin. Played with Johnny Winter. Oh for the days of REAL music. The cat is gone now, but what a wonderful talent/memories he brought to us. I have a feeling the Lord is tapping his foot right now..........
Just great to see the Guvnor at work.....he is perhaps the epitomy of a musician who "makes it look easy", and after 30 years of playin my ol JJ cale vinyl, never get tired of it....timeless!!!....sublime !!
Love this song

That's how you do it kids!
Sweetest couple .
Always in mood for jj. Love it!!
His style of music, TULSA, is really great, created by his immense talent. I listen to every song without moderation since 1972...
This performance alone is a reason for him being inducted into the hall of fame!!

John Weldon Cale was born in Oklahoma City, and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He later styled himself "JJ" to avoid any confusion with John Cale of the Velvet Underground. Legendary guitarist JJ Cale is best known for pioneering the Tulsa Sound and writing two songs ("After Midnight" and "Cocaine") that Eric Clapton turned into huge hits.
