Jimmy Page covers chopin in arms concert and uses his violin bow in the end.
ARMS CONCERT was a way that artists found to get money for the reseachs of some deseases. ARMS= Action into Research for Multiple Sclerosis. This concert particulary was in Madison Square Garden, with Page, Clapton, Beck, and many other great artists.
I really do not own this music and this version, all rights reserved to Frédéric Chopin and Jimmy Page.

@roseannemorales780 Well, he actually did it for his deceased friend & beloved band member John Henry Bonham because this was the first time he had picked up a guitar publicly since his passing- an incredible, heart felt expression, not to be critiqued- how can you critique such an incredible out pouring of sheer emotion? Or perhaps you weren't aware of this..in which case you shouldn't speak if you don't really know - see how you can accidentally be disrespectful trying to bag on Page - " not the cleanest, best..Sssswho the fk else has ever played it before on guitar? Hi. I had a small music shop in Turkey . I used to sell music cassettes, albums. I'm 57 now. I have been listening Led Zeppelin over 40 years with the same exact joy. I even had a chance to small chit chat with them that showed me how amazingly humble they were. They were the most important famous people I met in my life. They were so normal, sincere and gentlemen. No complimants or anything. We talked for about 20-25 minutes and drank tea with Robert. After the concert was finished I tried to learn where do they would stay in.Next day I''ve found and waited by the hotel. When Robert went out I kissed him and hugged him. He Asked me about the previous day's concert performance.I said time passed so fast like a dream. I said I came about 1000 km from my town Adana to İstanbul for the concert he said please drive carrefully. I took LZ 3 LP (which I've bought and brought back to that concert) in İtaly when I was 21 y.o. in 1983 and they signed the album LZ 3 Long Play. I even had a chance to small chit chat with them that showed me how amazingly humble they were. I was waiting for Jimmy, he was crouching and shopping at a peddler who sold cheap imitation watches near the hotel street. I talked to him for 5-6 minutes. He was also gentleman, sincere like a normal person. I loved them more because they are the most important band of history (according to me) and so normal people like a teacher or friends. I am hoping that I don't die before them and they keep playing their amazing music. Lucky me. I've also met Michael Lee. RİP Michael.Lee and Bonzo. You're the greatest drummers of all. At the concert it was forbidden taking photos.Security took the film from my camera. But I've hidden another film in my socks. So I've taken many photos:) There were somebody who recorded the all the sound of the concert his hands in the air all night long. After 30 years I've found him in internet. He'll give me the recordings of the concert and I'll give him the night's photos. He created the best collection of riffs anybody has ever made, plus putting together the most musically gifted band the world has ever seen Led Zeppelin - which gave birth to modern rock we hear today, you can still put a Zeppelin record on and will sound more current than most modern pop songs. It´s crazy how Jimmy Page´s rebelness or quick "what the hell, let´s move on" signature, he use to shift the composition forward(emotionally) from the "acceptance" feeling that chopin transmits, to moving on!! He tells you that Chopin was in fact, talking the blues back then...
That is just beautiful

I'm doing okay I had hurt my knee difficult walking. I believe I've seen a couple of performances of this particular piece of music. But this one is excellent. I just received two new guitars and I haven't played in a long time. I got this vintage Breedlove it's amazing but I have to have hand wrist elbow and shoulder surgery if I want to play. I think I'm going to have to have surgery on the knee before I do the arm. I've already had thumb surgery. A few years ago but now the total hand is failing. I was talking to Steve Vai. Even he has had some extensive surgery. I hope that you are doing very well. My grandson just started to play guitar and he's getting rather good. I retired when I was 17 I played when I was really young, but I think he wants Grandma to get back into it. I can't even form chords correctly because I have impingement also in my elbow it's going to be a big surgery and I think I had to be quite honest, very poor guitar posturing. Even though it's been many years I think it caught up with me. I hope you're able to play for as long as you can. Because I know it makes you happy. When it comes to rock and roll and the Art of guitar playing you are the best. And thank you for all the wonderful music.

When you listen to this Chopin and I'm speaking particularly about this performance. The way you use the bow at the very end really adds so much, it's so good.
Met him in '91 with his band Coverdale & Page.. talked with him for a few minutes, one of my idol's growing up, it was surreal... and he was one cool laid back humble guy! One unique person to say the least... even his blue / grey eyes that were something that were rare to see... his autograph in exchange for me to show him where the art galleries were in Coconut grove, Miami, FL .

Jimmy Page. What can I say. He’s probably my biggest inspiration on guitar and has been for about the first time I picked up a guitar. It’s not just speed or the riffs, it’s his sense of rhythm. I play a lot of Led Zeppelin because it’s fun to play but I always come back to the recordings to work on the “swing” that Jimmy Page has when he recorded these songs. If it weren’t for Jimmy Page’s killer riffs, I may never have stick with playing guitar.
IMPRESIONANTE !!!!
Fantastyczne dziękuję! !!!

Les plus grands musiciens sont issus des années 70-80-90 et aussi de ces grands groupes. Malheureusement, il n'y a pas de relève, c'est très médiocre aujourd'hui même s'il y a quelques exceptions !

I was at this show and it was my first time seeing him. Due to circumstances beyond my control I never saw the 4 of them together. This was an intense moment. Kicked the drugs and this was one of his first appearances after the death of Bonzo. Saw the 3 of them at Live Aid 2 years later! This was a night I’ll never forget and have seen him every time he’s come to the States since.

If he had kicked from all drugs one month before, then we aren't supposed to look his bones. And if he kicked one week before, it's unlikely he were able to show up at a public gig.

I never got to see them live, but my mom bought IV when it was released. I heard it in utero and all through infancy because she would put me in the bassinet over the stereo while she painted and decorated their brand new house. I can sing the entire album: hey, hey mama... goin' down, goin down, goin down. Fifty years later and it embraces me and soothes me still. ❤

I can listen to it every day and enjoy it the same way I did 50 years ago. Jimmy got it right the first time, with no weak number there - cant be said about any later album of LZ. The sound, engineering, production is absolutely perfect.. to the last plate reverb .. reverberation :)

@@jimmypage7275 Dear Mr Page, that would be a very great honour for me. I've been listening to your music since I was 7 or 8 and it still doesn't bore me, and I'm quite old now. I was born in 63, and I missed the best part of music. So I had to catch up on everything. Things like Screaming Lord Sutch and others. With respectful expectation, I am ready for anything from Mr. Page :-) Thank you for your response and perhaps more. Many greetings and good health from Paul

How I wish I could go back in time to the years when we had these artists that at least tried to communicate with the audience through their art form instead of the crap we have now that focuses on the person's identity.

This has nothing in common with classical music... what are you smokin, Chopin ? :)) I played classical guitar years before I turned to rock... Zep in particular... So your comment is the silliest I´ ve ever read :)) And why do you even comment here.. with all your knowledge ? If you dont like it, just stay away... delve into whatever you like and explore the treasure we wouldnt care about you .. and your snitty remarks :) so so veiled..

@@tomasvanecek8626 It showed me that rock musicians have a musical knowledge which covers more genres, including classical. Here he plays on guitar the Prelude of Chopin in E minor, also nicknamed Suffocation, due to its sadness. Few realize this is classical music (well Chopin was more a romantic composer) Search for Prelude E minor, Chopin.

@@tomasvanecek8626 The literal title of this video is “Jimmy Page’s CHOPIN PRELUDE N.4.” I hope you’re a troll, because there is no way someone can be that “silly” and claim this has “nothing in common with classical music.” It literally is a classical piece? That Chopin wrote? And it’s in the gosh darn title? It’s understandable if you are unfamiliar with classical music, but you claim to have played “classical guitar” for years, so it’s surprising you never came across this piece before and don’t recognize it. Jimmy is not the composer of this piece; Chopin is. Get off your high horse. Unless you’ve been doing so many hard dr*gs to the point of misunderstanding ilikechopin8112’s comment to THAT extent, there is no excuse for your rude reply to them. I think you owe them an apology for your “snitty remarks.”

I was there at Madison Square Garden when he did this, a friend was working with the lighting crew at the time, Page was so nervous backstage walking back and forth he wasn't on drugs just a wreck with nerves and obsessed how he would play!
