Even though the lift is assisted and the distance lifted is extremely short...the fact that he did not break any bones is simply incredible. I like to see bone density test results for his hands and arms. They must be super human !!! By the way... a ton is 2,000 lbs.

@@majicflash22 buddy, I have been a raw bencher for over 12 years, and can bench a lot, especially for a paraplegic. I am going to compete in a shirt since it isn't on a Paralympic bench and I wobble less in the shirt. I'll tell you right now a shirt is completely different than raw. Different "groove", different everything. Right now the shirt is harder for me and I can't do the same numbers in it as I can raw. I'm learning though.

One can't just switch from shirted to unshirted without consequences. Raw benchers and shirted benchers train differently. I've talked with Jimmy about this and he won't risk a torn pec for the sake of a heavy raw bench because that could set him back for 6 months or more. Both Julius Maddox (I've spoken to him as well) and Jimmy will tell you that raw benching and shirted benching are two entirely different sports. A lot of people make the mistake of trying to compare the two.
