When I was breaking in the biz in 1977 major duke George would bring the valiant brothers to workout in Hofmeisters Gym in Indianapolis -

This match is from the Indianapolis Convention Center, Dick The Bruiser and Wilbur Snyder's old WWA. Mid 1970's with Slamming Sammy Menacker on the microphone. Dom Denucci was a long time WWWF guy, who came to the territory at the same time Bruno Sammartino did. Bruno was the owner (or part owner at least) of the Pittsburgh territory so Indianapolis got to see a few of the Pittsburgh wrestlers often,

Sunday mornings in Chicago when I was a kid... These guys were larger than Life.

I LOVED THE VALIANT BROTHERS IN THE WWWF BUT REALKY LIKED THEM IN VIDEOS OUTSIDE THE WWWF LIKE THIS.

Jerry Valiant was Guy The Stomper Mitchell (John Hill) who lived in the Indianapolis area, but was best known for his work for The Sheik in Detroit.

That is where he got his start, and he was born and raised there. I grew up in Beech Grove, where he lived in Indy, was always odd to see him out cutting his grass like everyone else. I was a kid and thought he WAS Jerry Valiant!...lol...I bought kayfabe hook line and sinker!

Guy also spend somt time in St. Louis feuding with Ronnie Etchison.

The Valiants were great at doing promos.

In 1979, a new pro wrestling publication hit newsstands and magazine racks across the nation. It was Pro Wrestling Illsutrated. When the first issue went to press, Jerry & Johnny Valiant were the #1 ranked Tag Team. Jimmy Valiant was ranked at #8 in what is now the WWE.

The valiants were true gentlemen. Their enjoy eating good old fashion hot dogs and french fries

Jerry took over when Jimmy legitimately contracted hepatitis and was prohibited from wrestling for a long stretch.

Four true legends in the ring. Bronco Lubich was supposed to officiate this important match but he got hold of some bad shellfish that day at lunch and was unable to answer the bell so to speak.

Remember that jacket well. Usually wore an army helmet as well. Managed the Kangaroos among others.

Max Davis one of my favorites as well. He was always great to watch. This is the only time i have seen him in green trunks.

+Max Davis There is a match on here where he tag teams with Jose Gonzalez against the Executioners . He is wearing Blue trunks and is sporting his manliness through out the match.
