The host is refreshingly upbeat she enthusiastic, seems interested in JRs words, and he didn't try to sell anything. He's like the opposite of Conrad

I remember this episode if Livewire! Funny as Hell! Probably one of the few times JR & Russo was on the same page! Ross was clowning on the callers! 😂😂😂😂😂

@RJ No you didn't. They were wearing 16oz gloves and there were no submissions. None of these guys were doing Muay Thai elbows, knees or clinch work, so it meant the very very good grapplers were basically useless. Most fights end on the ground, as anyone who trains combat sports will know, unless the rules restrict takedowns. In Muay Thai, you want your opponent on the ground - unconscious, or unable to get up. In any type of grappling, you want the same - you take your opponent down and you submit him. But in a Brawl For All where you cannot submit someone, what's the point of taking him down ? You shoot in for a double leg takedown, you pass your opponents guard, you have him in proper side control, you're getting ready to grab a joint to make him give up or you'll break his arm, or shoulder or wrist - but wait, you are not allowed. So, you take your opponent down, and you have to let him back up ! If they'd been fighting with lighter gloves and if submissions had been allowed you would have seen who the tougher guys were. As it was, the grapplers were hamstrung by the rules, and the strikers all quit, withdrew or didn't participate in the first place, knowing the rules were idiotic, and not wanting to risk their reputations. If you're having a contest to see who's the best fighter and Dan Severn isn't in it, it's like having a contest to see who the best basketball player is, but Michael Jordan doesn't participate. And Scotty Pippen wins. Is Bart Gunn a good fighter ? Was he the legitimately toughest guy in the WWF at that time ? Evidently he is tough. But he's no Dan Severn. Is Scotty Pippen a better basketball player than Jordan ? Sure, he was great, but he wasn't better than Jordan. If they'd applied actual MMA rules to the Brawl for All it would have worked. But the rules were just harebrained.
