Jim Nantz Returns | NLU Pod, Ep 831
Спорт
Four years after his first appearance on the pod, we welcome back Jim Nantz of CBS to detail the changes in the network's golf coverage, offer some context around the growth of the Masters coverage and infrastructure, Scottie Scheffler's recent dominance and the current fractured environment in pro golf.
We also get some amazing stories from Jim's time on the road, his favorite meal spots at various tour stops, and an incredible story to close us out surrounding an encounter from early in his career with an iconic actor at an iconic course.

The pinnacle of golf broadcasting was CBS 15 years ago…Nantz, McCord, Kostis and Feherty……take a slow sport and brought great insight and HUMOR…..now it all stats and same quotes every week
Awesome interview, thanks for the great content Soly
Another great interview, Soly. Love how you asked him the semi-awkward questions like the LIV digs. His answers were great. Curious, I don’t know if the recording was just skipping, or were the jump cuts throughout more prominent than usual? Just a time saver?

He had a phone that was dinging and we did our best to edit it out. We’re still audio first and we usually do a fair amount of editing like that for audio listeners.

@@NoLayingUpyou might think about getting a simple spectrum audio editing program to grab those phone dings. I used Izotope Ozone for years but I’m sure there are others these days.
solly and nantz-- does not get better than this. 2 pro's who love the game. do it again soon guys.
Awesome stuff! I could listen to Nantz for days! Best voice in television
what a great interview! cbs has been doing great work
Jim lowkey did a great Sean Connery impression.
A lot more cuts and edits in this video than most from NLU.
byron nelson used to have a strong field. this year no top 20 players
Brandel: IS THAT A FUCKING COMMERCIAL
Nantz is many things and high up on that list resides “coy”.
nice conversation, need to work on those choppy edits though.

We're an audio medium first. The videos are a bonus. And we've always edited episodes to make the audio version of the podcast as clean as possible. We had to edit around a lot of cell phone pings as well.
