If you look up class in the dictionary it has a picture of Nantz. Class personified

Damit Jim, why have to and make me all teary eyed. What a beautiful ritual you have to remember and honour your loved ones.

I was working a traffic post at the Genises open a few years ago and I met Mr. Nantz. He was so gracious and gave me a CBS embosed golf ball and a CBS lapel pin with the logo and inscribed "Hello Friends" Classy guy for sure!

Men don’t have great ease saying this, but what you hear when Jim talks about Brent, his friendship with Dan, & the mementos he’ll have to keep him calm, that’s Jim speaking love. He’s talking about his love for all of those. Amazing.

Nantz, Musberger, Patrick, Michaels, Summerall, Harwell, Cosell, Costas, Buck, and Scully...Anyone who grew up listening to these iconic voices knows just how lucky we were and still are to hear some of them to this day. All of them Hall of Fame broadcasters. I'm missing a few I'm sure and feel free to add someone to the list but they better be worthy.

At the 13 minute mark, when Dan is counting down for Jim, and Jim has to stick the landing with everything going on in his ear, and does it with graceful precision; that’s one of my all-time favorite moments in the history of the show. Dan Patrick and Jim Nance are two LEGENDARY BALLERS. ~Massive Respect!

  • @mark11967AD

All the status and all the money. Everybody has to be in the HOF now. In the NBA Doris Burke is in the HOF. Basically if you broadcast games for ESPN long enough you're going to be in the HOF. It's ridiculous. Brent Musburger was known as a hack back in the day. Now you want to be nice to him and appreciate he has put in a lot of time etc that's fine. But he doesn't need to be in the HOF. I mean with all the internet blur anymore that has become people's lives what does the HOF even mean anymore? It's a joke.

Brent did a great job with college basketball, and the NFL no doubt, but he was removed from the Masters after his blatantly ignorant attempt to rewrite Masters history in, of all years, 1986 Nicklaus' final Masters win, the Lords of Augusta gave CBS no choice.
