I agree with you 💯 %,There are companies competing for business and if one of the companies can prove they are better they will get more business if the product is better. Wwe is bad but AEW Is worst. At least Wwe has a comprehensive training system, AEW DOESN'T they constantly parade indi wrestlers which aren't good to begin with and looks like they went to wrestling school just to learn how to fall and then said I'm ready for the big time. Screw learning to work, psychology, hitting the gym, learning the business, etc.

In my opinion, Jim Cornette is the smartest wrestling pschologist. He knows how to do moves and when to do them. He knows how to make an idea work, how to engage the audience. In a different life, he would’ve been the greatest Hollywood director or screenwriter. I wish more wrestlers and promoters would listen to him, and actually learn something. But the problem is, with wrestling as with the world in general, everybody believe they know everything and are not able to admit that they make mistakes and need advice.

I disagree. His views were great for that time period, but now they are very outdated. It worked in 1980 because there was nothing else to do with your time. Today nobody wants to see this kind of product anymore, especially in a world with soo many alternatives. There are too many other ways to spend your time, like KZread, Netflix, Twitch, Podcasts, Video games etc.. Also with MMA existing, i doubt many people want to watch men in their underwear pretending to fight, when you can see the real thing in MMA. Wrestling can still be successful today, but not the style of wrestling Jim Cornette would like.

It's always refreshing when you see people who don't piss and moan in the comments about something they hate that Jim likes and vice versa. Sometimes you have to draw a line and if the negatives outweigh the positives for you, go find something that brings you more joy but if the reverse is true, just shrug your shoulders and just pay attention to what you like. Personally I'm a 'goes to church weekly' guy but if I'd never heard about Harley Race, his love of fire and Hogan fandom, my life would be less complete, lol.

He has substance to his points, but it's not like there is answer there. Promotions need to stay on tv, and audiences like jacked roid addicts, but they're not going to hold audience using the pace of the 1980's matches, because 1980's crowds thought pro wrestling is real...They even have pejorative name for customers...marks...That's not healthy business philosophy to deceive...and it's not needed because enough audience respects athleticism, if you don't alienate them...but there's civil war in the industry because it's art, NOT science...In story telling

How they both destroy this article is literally why I left the AEW official fan site because every response and opinion where in the vain of this article; most responses and so called opinions I got from the most fanatic of fans there are as baseless, non sensical, no proof or elaboration to any statement they make (I literally think they don't know the difference between an opinion and a statement) and really makes you question if they fully grasp what they are saying or have actually watch wrestling.

Everything he said is true. He's actually quite good at arguing his points on this one. It's like his comments on the high spots, it's the impact each move has, not whether or not you can string so many together in a row. When AEW does stuff like that it undermines their product. It looks more like a scripted cheerleading routine than a wrestling match. If those moves were spread out and had an impact, if they were actually sold, I bet Jim wouldn't mind. All of his arguments are grounded in one basic argument. Believability. Everyone sitting at home knows that the outcomes are predetermined. Even when I was a little kid I knew. My dad tried to hide it but I told him it was "fake" (kid me). We all know but the point is we want to suspend our disbelief. How can I do that during a Bucks match where they're doing a cheerleading routine? Or a match where Marco Stunt wins against an actual wrestler? I normally don't comment on these videos but imo Jim killed it here. I don't always agree with Jim but he nailed it. Pretty damn good for an on the fly take too imo.
