James Mcmanus I dunno, bro. It was great, no doubt about it.....all time great, even. I just can't put it over matches like both HBK/Undertaker Wrestlemania bouts. Especially, the one with HHH as special ref. When taker kicked out after getting both a Pedigree, (maybe the most protected finisher of all time, w/ stunner & tombstone from Taker/Kane) AND Sweet Chin Music back to back, with the streak on the line, I lost my shit! That's easily the greatest kick out of all time, imo. And it's not even close. Also, the Kurt Angle/Lesnar iron man match on Smackdown (still can't understand why that match was on fucking Smackdown, but it WAS awesome lol) was better imo Another would be Benoit/Lesnar on Smackdown(again, can't understand why it wasn't a ppv match). Go back & watch it if you never have, or if it's been a long time. It's hard to think of many more better than the WM13 match though....it was so good, it made stone cold a baby face (despite his ENTIRE GIMMICK being heel) for the rest of his life!!! So yea, I see where you're coming from, for sure

Its simple, back in the day you had territories and diverse styles of promotion. Then the rise of tv wrasslin, wwf, ppv etc. Then there were basically 2. WCW and WWF/ WWE. Now its a watered down almost monopoly on the buisness. Competition is a good thing. WWE needs to let some of the smaller promotions get over and try to make it.

Audio Books read by either of these two would be hilarious. Imagine….Harry Potter read by Jim Cornette and Game of Thrones read by Stone Cold 😂. You could also add in something like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Tom Clancy Novels read by Jim Ross lol. Any of those would be top tier entertainment.

All Inclusove! That's what the HOF needs to be! WWE's HOF now has become the Premier but is downgrading on it's current entries, but if they would include the great wrestlers of the past they could introduce them to todays audience and educate the fans on those who built the buisness. That is what a Hall of Fame is intended for.

I think Corny is mainly talking about the 70s and 80s and by the 90s people in general we're starting to figure it out and the idea of how the wrestling business worked was kind of revealed. The way you reference Steve Austin and the NWO it sounds like you grew up in the 90s which like jim said people were figuring it out by then.

I’m going to go to Kevin Nash’s comeback to Cornette about only having 6 moves including the hair flip: “There was this guy named Nolan Ryan….”. One of the top two pitchers the game had ever seen, and he had two pitches. Granted, they were a 97+ MPH fastball and the nastiest 12-6 curveball ever seen, but still. Nash’s point was: you don’t need to use a million moves if the ones you’ve got get over. Hell, late in his career, Austin was nothing more than punch, kick, elbow drop, stomp a mudhole, Thesz press and stunner. And he made more money doing that than anyone since the 1920s.

@@Rjensen2 Actually I grew up watching Steve and Pillman in WCW. If you’ll notice, I said “late in his career”. Prior to the neck injury, he was absolutely one of the best technical workers in the business. After, he had to go to a more brawling style which became more and more prevalent.
