If you pause when they are doing a close up of the drawing, you can kind of see that there already is a drawing under. Maybe he did it of camera to safe time and that’s why he doesn’t need to look at Conan

The Devil’s Ivy look at 5:37, you can see some lines that it seems to me that is the same drawing in the next page. Also at the beginnig he looks for an specific page insted of just opening at any page to draw.

Jim actually looks kind of happy here, he didn't seem this way in interviews he did a few years ago.

i believe its a reference to him explaining that anthony told him that he copied snakes to play hannibal lecter. So, when he played ace ventura, he copied birds and its movements to create ace's particular gestures and walks.

Ask interesting questions 4. Uncover guests hidden talents. 5. Have fans learn something new from the celeb guests. 6. Let guest show their sense of humor. 7. Be humble by letting celeb guest shine.

phosphorescent wave I can see how you might draw that conclusion, but in the realm of talk/panel shows these events do usually happen on camera. It doesn’t seem that way because majority of the interview is edited out. I imagine they were drawing for around 10-15 minutes total, as that’s how long is usually given for live segments.

@@MSKRD7 Conan has a darker sense of humor, he joked that it would be great if Jim tore the sketch of Conan up in front of him and laughed. The idea being Conan was extremely impressed by Jim's sketch and really wanted to keep it. Hence the joke. It's a bit of outrageous humor. It's hard to describe Conan's jokes. They're quite immediate and multifaceted.

I really miss Jim Carrey's humor in movies. He was such a hero and icon in my childhood.

@besixdouze Actually, he's doing better now. When Carey was at his best, he said his comedy masked his sadness. He was playing a character to hide his pain. What we're seeing now is the real Jim Carey. He's learning to be himself. Just because you don't recognize Carey from before, it doesn't mean he's calling out for help. He's just more comfortable in his skin. His previous comedy was a mask.

Yeah Ace Ventura is like all his bits from his stand up and stuff he did as a kid rolled into one character. The alrighty then thing came from his stand up when he would introduce himself... “How is everyone doing tongiht-alllllrighty then!!!”

I always forget that Conan helped make the Simpsons, so he probably has experience around a team of artists

I've seen him relaxed in others.

I'm an artist, and when I draw someone, I'm usually looking at the person or object constantly... Jim literally took only like 2 glances at Conan and Drew from memory... That means this man has a photographic memory!!😲😲😲😲😲💯💯💯

yeah but you know he already practiced drawing that precise drawing a few times before the show right? lol he's had practice. Besides, we all can remember what conan looks like.

@@ChristelVinot I guess you don't follow him carrey on Twitter etc.. he's drawing all day almost every day.. Google it.. he's been doing giant cartoon paintings for a while now . He's a cartoonist . Iman artist, I don't need to pre practice drawing someone when I draw someone 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ smh

@@Tech305MIAMI The point is, he doesn't have to look at him because he, and all of us, can already picture conan in our heads. He's famous and we all know what he looks like even when we aren't looking at him... lol. So my point still stands, only looking at him twice doesn't mean a thang.

it's funny how conon laugh like he had just heard the greatest joke of his life and turns back to normal seconds later🤣

Thank God we exist in the same timeline as Jim Carrey

Love seeing Jim Carrey out and about again. That dude is a titan of comedy.

~ R.I.P. Perseus Carré. Great story Jim. Your father helped create one of the most surreal, original character and funniest comedians of our time. It also was quite a treat watching Conan, Andy Richter and Jim together, comedy gold. Made my day.

Jim Carrey would have made a GREAT GENIE IN ALADDIN!!!

Disagree, Colbert always has great guests and is a very good host. I think Jim was a little uneasy about sounding good on his show.

This was a good interview with him. He was just himself talking, not doing series of skit. I love it bc i got to see Jim carry more genuinely, as himself.

Jim: "But I would like you to do a sketch of me as well..." Conan: *Pikachu shock face* Conan: "I HAD No IDea yOu WeRe GOiNG To AsK tHat" As he hands him the extra sketch book sitting there on the floor.

This one just warms my heart. I love my hero jim and i love conan cause he treat his guests right.

Jim Carrey will always be my favorite comedic actor. He was such a huge part of happiness in my childhood that I feel like I owe him for those good memories. I hope to get to shake his hand and let him know how much I appreciate him, one day.

Dammn that portrait is on top, Jim Carrey is really talented not only as an actor but as an artist.

@@francescogiorgetti5359 it's a limited time show, he can't just draw a full picture in the time limit, assuming it wasn't drawn for him by someone else. And his art works are all fake.

@@bubblemonkeys He really does draw/paint, and and this style matches his skill level just fine. Also, the sketchbook could easily be mostly filled already. He probably did pre draw most of the page already, but I do think he did it.

I often draw from back to front to that I can use a whole book and not have imprints on the pages underneath.

Conan looks so good, he doesnt look old at all.

Wow! Conan was a lot better than I expected! I knew Jim was into Art but I didn’t expect Conan’s to be so good. I love Jim. My mom sent him a letter saying he was my hero and I was out in LA working at an acting career and he sent me a signed headshot, I couldn’t believe it. I framed it and look at it every day. He’ll always be one of my biggest inspirations and reasons I became an actor in the first place.

Both are really good sketches!
