    I love when Jim Carrey is funny but when he gets serious and lucid, shit gets real pretty quick. Love this guy so much. He's been such a positive icon for us hyperactive ADHD kids for many years and some people may think that's not valuable but it really is. He taught us that being a bit strange is not only okay, but it can be a gift to yourself and to the people around you. There's simply no way to put a price on how valuable that is.

    Lavern, you know comparative assessments with the third world, as you find yourself among the hustle and bustle of Downtown LA are fun and all, but are actually pretty hollow. Honour Killings come from the subcontinent, and are not exclusive to Islam (which I guess is what you referred to as my culture). There are some very reprehensible parctises in the third world, with education deprivation. I wouldn't have much joy trying to organise a gay parade in Kempala, or a protest against female genital mutilation in Eritrea, but I don't regard them as inherently inferior human beings. I've just been lucky.

  • @AliHussain-fz7pd

    @AliHussain-fz7pd

    5 жыл бұрын

    @Lavern Honour killings do happen among Muslims in first world countries. They happen too among Sikhs and Hindus. Just yesterday I read of a Hindu man killing his Muslim wife. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/ilford-murder-london-pregnant-woman-killed-crossbow-baby-sana-muhammad-crime-met-police-a8631756.html Happens a fair bit in India too, so to portray it as exclusively Muslim, is untrue. Same goes for forced marriages. As for forced Hijab, yes you will find that it occurs, but you've nothing other than anecdotes to offer, nothing objective so come back to me when you do. As for belief in the death for apostasy, I'd say that it is a valid point. Although how many ex-Muslims have actually been killed in the West for apostasy, as far as I'm concerned it's a non-problem. Should we hear of 5 murders for leaving Islam a year, I might take notice. As for the comment "its in their holy book", I'd refrain from commenting on that which you have little knowledge. You don't know what you are talking about, it is a lot more nuanced than you think, there are a number of conditions. I'm not overly concerned either about the terror attacks, I feel a great deal of sympathy for those who are affected of course, but the reality is that 30k + die a year from gun violence, Americans are liklier to die in a bathtub than a terror strike. And frankly, these endless wars that you have waged are going to come with some form of recourse. I'm not saying it's moral, I'm saying that you had a big role in creating this resentment, so deal with it. Muslim immigration to the West began post WW2, and for 50 years Muslims had been a tax-paying, employed, charitable community. Then you decided to drop the twin towers (Sorry, there are anus' belonging to prostitutes with more integrity than the official story), and well, now we have a problem. You are patriotic I'm sure, but this isn't a binary good vs evil paradigm. There is a lot of colour to this. And as for France, they are a butt-hurt little nation with issues against Muslims, Blacks, and Jews, they are highly upset that they have become this mongrel nation after the blunder of letting in foreigners. They shouldn't have gone around colonising the world and making every other fucker learn their language. WW2 devastated the French economy, they were short of men, and rebuilt on the backs of the cheap labour that came in. And I've got news for you, white people have stopped fucking each other, you see on the other side of the Atlantic, in that collection of welfare States, what you get is a State education, pension and free healthcare. It's very expensive. The median age in Germany is 44. who the fuck is going to foot the bill? where are the tax payers going to come from Lavern? Should Germany just roll over into an economic irrelevance having been split for decades, and worked their fucking ass off to become one of the top economies in the world? Who are you going to bring in? Shin from Thailand? You want him to put down his coconut water work a solid shift in the cold and then produce a family. There is 1 child max in his balls. The Africans invariably have children out of wedlock and are not immune to a prison visit (costly). It is only the Muslims with standards low enough to walk into the squalor on offer in the European Ghettos and still pro-create, significantly. Research shows that children born into dual parent homes are generally better at school and do better in life. So, sit back with your verdicts from on high. There is more colour and nuance to this than you could possibly envisage.

    I really enjoy how much input Jim has, even after Bill goes back to the panel. Many guests, once this happens, are completely ostracized from the conversation. But Jim dives right back in... and not just with side comments to stay relevant to the conversation, but actual value and entertainment. I felt re-engaged every time he had something more to add. And yes, he is a dominating personality, but I found it delightfully refreshing in this part of the show.

    From what I've seen, I don't think Jim's any more crazy/ depressed than any of us, he's just very expressive about the ways that he feels. When he's feeling low it comes out, when he's feeling high it comes out. Part of being a great comedian involves cutting out that part of your social conditioning that tells you to filter your thoughts so you don't look crazy. That being said, you compare a comedian like Kathy Griffin, who still needs to work to pay for her lavish lifestyle, and somebody like Jim Carrey, who's got enough money that he could never want for anything monetarily the rest of his life, and I can see why it's possible for him to get political all day every day and not give a shit, compared to Kathy Griffin, who was seeing the backlash affect her ticket sales.

In my province I live in I have to pay MSP but it’s in the process of being not needed any more to pay which is great but I would still be willing to pay the subsidy which is 38.00 a month for all the medical benefits I get. Thank you Jim for sharing this about our country 😊

    I have to slightly disagree on a couple points Biatch P. I worked out of the country for 1 year. When returning I moved to a different city for work purposes. I waited 3 years to get a family doctor. You have to resort to medical clinics, which don't really help. Get 'em in, get 'em out. So now I've moved again after 8 years in the previous city, an hour and a half away. 4 year wait to get a doctor. Unless you need emergency surgery you're at the whim of who's on call. As far as prescriptions go, I dont know what province you're in but the one's where I've resided, unless you have an employer backed health care plan, you pay full cost for your prescriptions or are on social assistance or elderly. This has been my experience as a life long, proud to be, Canuck.

    I think we should adopt a Canadian style healthcare system in America. One thing that I can see being a challenge to passing this is the perceived loss of productivity. Business owners who never had to worry about their work force calling out or scheduling days off to go to a doctor would have to face that reality. It's time to legislate this in the same way we passed workman's comp.

    source? You don't have one. Years? Here in the US I have PPO insurance and I still had to wait for back surgery so STFU on the waiting scheme that allegedly Canada has. Go to a Private Hospital now. Guess what... you'll see people waiting and/or waiting weeks or months for a surgery. FOH

    That's what happens when you give up on the ten commandments, there are consequences. Thou shalt nor bear false witness. Now we all lie, this commandment is an ideal given to us. The bar is set high for a good reason but we arrogantly ignore . We should try and minimise this action/behaviour. The mathematician imagines a circle as an infinite set of points an equal distance from a point. The artist or engineer cannot create the perfect circle but it still exists as an ideal. That does not make the mathematicians vision incorrect. Within this is an understanding that we are flawed and make mistakes but we recognise our flaws. We are creating modern philosophies and actions that refuse to look at our flaws. There is lack of self criticism. People are perceived to have lost agency over their actions therefore they are beyond critism. Hence the lying on a grand scale that runs through society from top to bottom.

    Jim Carrey's mastery of his audience is flawless. He gave the audience a taste of critical-thinking, and the felt out the audience in "real-time" and then pivoted his stance from concensus builder to Left-wing spokesman. Throwing the dead sturgeons to the clapping audience of seals.

    He spreads love and joy endlessly. True pure of heart. Laughing brings joy and its contagious. He laughs with love. He is the perfect candidate to bring folks from all walks of life together with good intentions. To build a bigger bridges and broader paths . Kick back on the beach and soak in his warm rays of light. Shines so bright that he lightens the paths of many so they can see through the dark on their way to enlightenment. I crushed on him so hard as a teen.. Fire. Marshall. Bill. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my all time favorites. If he ever reads this I'd like to thank him for all of the laughs, joy that he has provided to me for many years. In a way I wouldn't be where I am today had he not lifted my spirits. For me, laughs are a natural and organic medication that my system of cells responds well too. I'm allergic to penicillin though. Joy and medicine. Two birds.One Drone. Sincerely, 2b1d

    I love Jim Carry and feel I can relate to how he processes existence. If you have any whits about you and have survived to a certain age, the absurdity of life just percolates to the surface and what used to seem so complex and mysterious settles into a thick layer of obviousness and simplicity. People life in fear, not love and that is the basis for all our problems. Carrey realizes that we, as individuals, are a construct of our environment. If you don’t understand that, try imagining being born as a person as opposite to what you are as you possibly can. Would you be the you , you know now? Of course not. There is a core conscious and an outer shell we call ourselves and Jim sees that very clearly. Not many people see that, nor do they want to. To me, that’s not insanity, it’s a revelation that brings us all together in a beautiful way. Unfortunately, to most people our differences separate us in a dangerous way. Please find the common ground we all have. It is extremely important and how folks feel about that will save or destroy us.
