Bowen had the style like you’re standing next to him having a pint listening to local stories

JIm had a bad stroke in 2013 & hasn't worked since. sad news... JIm passed away today 14/3/2018 aged 80. RIP

Jim was part of my childhood i never missed bullseye on a sunday evening.

I always thought the lovely Jim Bowen never got the credit he truly deserved but this show reveals the incredible talent he really was! RIP Jim, you were always one of my favourite comedians.

He lived near me in Melling.. we'd meet up in the Royal Oak quite often, he'd have me in stitches every night, lovely man sadly missed

Hehe, nice one :) I got invited to play guitar at a charity gig he did, by my mate Boomer, guitar player extraordinaire and a mate of Jims. Jim played the trumpet.The Carleton, Morecambe. We met and chatted for a very short time. Then we did the gig. Had a few beers afterwards etc. Anyway, a couple of years later I was at the Redwell with my sisters (then) boyfriend, Pete. I said "Yeah, Jim Bowen comes in here sometimes" "Really"? I like him" 5 minutes later, no joke, in walks Jim. We were sat just by the door. Jim walks in, looks around, looks at me and says "Alright Stew" and walks off to the bar. I feckin pissed meself laughing at the look on Petes face :D

I really didn't realise until I watched this how funny and talented Jim was. Another old school comedian who will be missed.

All the young and up and coming comedians should be made to watch Jim Bowen to see what a real comedian looks and sounds like.

Thanks For posting this up!, a master of the lost art of telling jokes!, today no mother in law jokes, no wife/woman jokes, no speech impediment jokes, no regional jokes, no ethnic jokes, people now offended by anything and everything!, so sad!, RIP Jim and the British sense of humour!

Plenty of jokes making fun of straight white Men!

Sunday evening, bath, pyjamas on and tea in front the telly watching Bullseye.

I never watched Jim on the TV, and did not care for the game show type of program but watching this made me smile and sometimes laugh out loud. Yes it is old fashioned and sometimes non PC but how did he manage to roll it all off so easily? A true old pro.

Brill when he was on The comedians

Bullseye was one of the few pay offs on a Sunday night, along with Spitting Image , before you had school the next morning on Monday.

Fantastic man reminds me of my father in law rip both of u great men

All generations, on a Sunday, sitting together watching Bullseye. That was the appeal I suppose. A winning formula with Jim Bowen at the helm, fond memories. RIP Jim Bowen.

Oh my how this world has changed ! Jim’s in a better place than us lot that’s for sure ,, great show .

You can tell he's a comedian from another generation, as he tells something called jokes, instead of a ten minute long monologues about his experience of opening as tin of beans that morning.

Wow my god , what can I say about Jim Bowen !!! He is in the top 10 of my favourite all time entertainers. I was a teenager just come to Britain when I saw him first, and then my favourite programme bulls eye. Rest in peace Jim, u are always with me , u never ever died

I laughed so much, so hard, so long, I woke up my neighbour who just knocked on my door. He goes to bed at 5pm because he works nights but even he forgave me when I said I was watching Jim Bowen. Just a class act.

Comedy genius, we miss you Jim

I loved The Comedians. My stomach used to ache every time Ken Goodwin was on.

I was fortunate enough to meet Jim on several occasions, one time he assked if he could join us for a meal. What you see is what you get, a lovely sincere man, proud to have made his acquaintance.

I worked with Jim Bowen many times. He was a nice man, before he hit the big time with Bullseye. . About 1979 /80 I made an LP with him.The cover of it was him looking through a window frame. It was fun to make. It was on my record label. Ellis

Snowflakes, lefties, gen z, and Tony Blair installed lefties in every institution in UK. Add all that up, that's what we got. Twitter and Facebook accelerated the issue. They can all sod off though, my young kids are well educated in how pc has gone too far, there's hope for the future yet!

I had a job as a bin man in Camden for about 2 years, I was sure Jim Bowen drove one of the trucks same voice, same jokes, same everything. It was a scream every time I got rotered onto that round.

Jim Bowen was never my favourite comedian back in the days , but he certainly shined on the stage here . 👌 His take on Max Wall was funny aswell as some of the one liners like Turkey and Greece 😃 🇬🇧🆓

Only knowing him from Bullseye it was a surprise the first time I saw this, it's like the first time I heard my mum swear

Hilarious from start to finish! Cried my eyes out laughing! Brilliant!

Jim was actually a School Teacher, who found more financial help as a Comedian than he could ever have earned had he remained a School Teacher. He actually purchased a former Railway Station to make into his home! I know of no other Teacher who could have achieved as much as did Jim who had a great living form bumbling his words on a Show called Bully! A Show formed around a Darts Board game!

A few years ago, I spotted Linford Christie waiting patiently inside a taxi rank in Sunderland. I seized the opportunity and asked him if he really does experience 'warning burns' during a hot bath before his backside has even kissed the water. At first he appeared puzzled by my question until it dawned on him what I was hinting at before telling me I was out of order to ask such a thing. Our encounter was pretty much awkward from then on as we both remained silent until his cab appeared.

One of the funniest things ove heard in years. Proper old school comedian unlike this modern wave of comedians like those who appear on live at the apollo just swearing there heads off. Jim had that indian accent spot on. Rip jim dont make them like you anymore
