Jerry Lewis Telethon - Awesome Telethon Openings

Welcome to your Labor Day Celebration Uploads!
We take a trip back to see and enjoy some of the great opening numbers that began the shows dating back to 1982 from Caesars Palace. Las Vegas!
As a bonus clip, 33 minutes deep, I've added the touching tribute done to Dean Martin on the 1996 Labor Day Telethon by his Partner and the dedication of one of the MDA Clinics as well.
Enjoy!

Who is watching this on Labor Day eve 2020? Just isn't Labor Day without the telethon!

I SO miss Jerry Lewis's telethon....I grew up watching it, it was always kind of an 'event' in my house. Amazing entertainment over the years for an excellent cause.

I was just thinking to myself that right about now in Baltimore we'd be nearly ready to watch the Jerry Lewis Telethon. This weekend will never be the same. Thank you for the uploads. What you have done is given many of us back our memories now faded with time. Bless you for that.

Not seeing the telethon on Labor day and the loss of Jerry Lewis is the end of a era 😢 for me.

I remember the 1987 opening. I was 9. I thought it was the Benny Hill show because WOR was the NY local back then and they aired Benny Hill at 7:30pm every evening. Yes, I was a 9 year-old kid watching Benny Hill.

Was looking for the tribute to Dean Martin today. Thanks for adding that bonus clip of his tribute to his ex partner ... Deano which is what he called him as he walked off the stage in 1976, Jerry thanked him for coming.

If Marvin would have been alive today, he would have slapped the singer into next week. What a disaster of his creation.

Getting rid of Jerry was the stupidest thing the MDA has ever done!!!!

It was probably time for Jerry to retire and for the telethons to end (in the internet age) but they still could have allowed him to step down with dignity....if he would have allowed that to happen. We'll never know exactly what went on behind the scenes.

It’s called spoiled rotten adults who did not get the spanking they needed. People like Jerry Lewis had lots of class to do what he did and he and Dean used to sing one of my childhood songs, Whose My Little Who’s Is, which my mother who is no longer with me today sang to me when I was a babe in arms and taught it to my oldest sister who is now also the oldest in the family and is now my only living parent- my baptismal mother meaning my Godmother. Thus my sister and Godmother rocked me in her arms on a rocking chair and sang that song to me. Thank you very much Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin for the song, Who’s My Little Who’s Is. I gratefully appreciated you bringing that song into my life as well as that of my family.
