Amazingly lively and sharp for his age. Gotta remember just how HUGE a star he was in the 50s and how big his movies were not only in the US but internationally.

Aye fantastic news, it's like music to my ears hearing that new generations are still enjoying the oldest & funniest of comedians ever. It's a shame that he wasn't part of the rat pack. I guess they were all scared he would steal the show! Extremely funny man who's DNA definitely needs to kept in the loom for us all to benefit from. May he forever be remembered as one of the funniest men ever to have lived.

I saw the movie when it came out in the movie theather's here in NYC. In those days Jerry would visit each movie theather and do a ten minute live bit before the movie was shown. It was one of my best memories I have when I was a young kid.

I know I was just saying that it wasn't Jerry Lewis who met Frankenstein. Jerry Lewis is the king of comedy to me. I have seen literally almost every movie Jerry Lewis has made including the Martin and Lewis movies. When Robin Williams met Jerry Lewis he said " hello maestro". Which I think was an awesome thing to say to someone who pretty much paved the way for comedians nowadays.

Deux Balo Ha, nice to know I have a follower! I am what's known as a 'KZread Community Manager' employed by YT for my region. It's people like myself who monitor videos, growing subscription bases, comment trends, social media. We liaise with different YT'bers, discuss partnerships. We monitor the user interface and see how people adapt to it and what changes might need to be made and talk about it every 3 days. So yeah, I'm on it a lot. I can view as many videos and comment on as many of them as I want - as long as I don't interfere with any YT'bers located in my region. Anyway, hope that helped :)

Jerry Lewis is one of those who may disappoint greatly if you met him. I loved his movies when I was a kid, then one day I actually did meet him. I've met a number of celebrities and they were all gracious, but not Jerry. I'll spare you the details, but I can tell you that ever since I met him -- and that was many years ago -- I have never since been able to watch any of his movies. If you do a search for "jerry lewis is still alive VICE," read the article and you'll get an idea of the Jerry Lewis I met all those years ago. He apparently hasn't changed.

Michele Engel Jerry Lewis worked with the same crew on film after film for most of his twenty-plus years as a top box office attraction. When he directed a film, his sets were never closed because he liked a relaxed, creative atmosphere. If someone wandered in while the camera was rolling, they'd just start again. During his telethon days, he worked with pretty much a single crew for over thirty years. These were people who could have worked elsewhere, but chose to work with Lewis because he's wonderful to work with. Meanwhile he's been maligned in the US press for over 60 years now, because of a petty squabble that began in the late 50s between American and French film critics, and because the public are sheep: tell them to hate somebody and they'll hate him.

  • @makthnife

Scott S. Hey Ahole, er...Scott: didnt yer momma tell you not to generalize? I'M not sheep. American culture and the public at large are two different things. Besides, throwing bias facts at....the public....doesn't do much to soften the hard terd (sic) of the reality of the past. JL has admitted he's an a-hole. He's a perfectionist as Bobby Darin was, and he was labeled brash, crass, and "hard to work with" when he demanded the best because HE was giving his best. JL is the same and can be a damn dog. So get your story straight-my correction is right from JL's mouth: check him out here on Dick Cavett and JL's book "In Person." Haters suck, a-holes swallow.

I like Jimmy a lot, a lot...but I cant stop thinking that if Jerry handed that note to David Letterman, he didn't have to explain the joke to him. I can only imagine Dave even saying yes and saying the word out loud or something :D

He's still pretty fit, isn't he. Looks to be in great condition for his age and he's still very charming. The Bellboy and Nutty Professor are great great comedy, my parents used to watch his movies religiously, I'm from Germany and even I grew up with him. I really hope the best for him, such a great guy.
