Never be another like him. RIP Jerry Clower, I bet you got the angels rolling in laughter

I cut my teeth listening to Jerry Clower. This guy, as well as people like him are truly the "salt of the earth". People like him are a big part of what has made this county great. I know the routine well from where I'm from. Work all day, Off on Sunday. Go to Church on Sunday (twice) and once on Wednesday night. Some of the best years of my life. I was considerably younger, and the world was a brand new place.

Those were good ole times, I listened to this same recording on an album my uncle and aunt had when I was a youngin'! My folks both passed, would sit and listen along with kinfolk to ole jerry just a laughing, sure miss those days, never to be again! Kids nowadays just don't get it, everything now has to using foul language and just nasty foul so called humor!

Knew Jerry when I was Teenager, his wife wa my Sunday school teacher st the first Baptist church Starkville. What I remember most, was him praying in Wednesday evening prayer service, sounded so close to God, made me tremble. His humble words and prayers are what our country needs today.

There will never be another Jerry Clower. Funniest stories ever!!

It might be a few miles between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Delta, but Jerry's people sound like my kinfolk!! God bless you Jerry and I will see you in heaven my brother!!

i had Jerry's Live in Picayune album and it was so funny just good clean humor he was truly a classic comedian.

Grew up in Pearl River county and still live there. The Jerry Clower venue was the first gathering of that kind other than church revivals that I was allowed to attend . Remember it vividly to this day, Mama found out that there was people in the parking lot sipping beer and smoking cigarettes…. That was the end of my going off with my cousins for years … 🤣😂🤣 back then Mama and Daddy could find out things even before we got home, dang party lines 😬🥺

Now his widow, Homerline Wells Clower has joined Jerry in heaven

Jerry Clower, and Vince Gill are 2 TOTALLY different people in 2 Totally different fields. one is a singer and one was a comedian..... in other words, No comparison.

Sadly it's because, Jerry shamed them, became a laughing stock.. . Life was better before technology .. And collage..

My family in Crockett, Texas Pine Bluff, Arkansas and in Amite County Mississippi (Centreville). All good people.🤠🤣👍🏾

This story reminds me of the time my brother and his friend stuffed me at 10 years old, into a Commercial dryer up at the Trailer park clubhouse. I was so scared cause it was so hot. It was one of those large dryers but it was real small inside. I screamed and went around a few revolutions inside there until they let me out. I've never been the same since then. Jerry Clower is my Grandmas cousin and he affected our family with his Great spirit. God may he rest in Peace!

Every story that Jerry told you could follow and imagine in your mind. Master comedian!

Brings back so many good memories. "Y'all drank! Drank plenty of it!"

I love Jerry Clower....I wish I could find the clip where the Ledbetters told him to ask Jimmy Carter coulcd they host the olympics!!

michael mullins It was on his 5th album, Live in Picayune. I heard him do some of those stories in person. He should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
