I love ur story and agree. Grew up in Louisiana taking baths with my nanny's 2 kids that were black, in a huge metal outdoor basin. Mom died when I was eight. I'm 55 now. I loved that woman and she was my fill-in momma when I needed her. Classy lady that taught me so much.

I am a 32 year old black man and I grew up listening to Jerry Clower with my father . These stories bring back to memory of some of my best child hood memories. Any idiot who would say that he is talking about lynching blacks is just plain dumb and really does not understand southern humor.

I am a black man born in rural Georgia and Jeryy Clower is one of the best old time comedians ever. Man does not curse and tell s funny stories about how he grew up and what life in Mississippi was like. Its all jokes and good ones at that. people grow up and enjoy, laughter is the best medicine!

I graduated from Mississippi College in Clinton MS and when they announced the commencement speaker as Jerry Clower, I was pissed. I spent a lot of money on my education and now we have a comic for the graduation speaker. Well boy oh boy was I wrong. Mr Clower gave the very best graduation speech I have ever heard and I was proud to shake his hand when I got my diploma. What an amazing person. I miss him so much. Thanks for reading.

Jerry was a great American. My entire family would travel all over the United States listening to this great American. I'm from Jackson, Mississippi and my daddy loved to tell stories and one of his idols was Jerry Clower. By the way, as a black man, I think Jerry was one of the best comedians ever. All I can say is is a damn shame that certain groups make this kind of comedy against social acceptance to put it kindly. But what they fail to realise is that Jerry was born and raised in a different time and this is why he has honest to goodness great stories and that is exactly what they are. What he says is not racist or discriminatory it is just the stories of his life as he lived them simple as that.

No unfortunately there will not because the people of today would plainly hate them out of a career if anyone dared to tell stories like his and that says more about what kind of people they then it says about anyone then the person they are talking about. The sad fact is he was raised in a different time when things were harder and you had work your ass off to get ahead and he was one of the lucky that was able to talk about his life and make a profit and one of few that used that to give back. Great loves for him and all he stood for and very sad we will not see another like him.❤💔

I'm only 56 YO right now, but Jerry Clower was part of the bread and butter I grew up on. It's Feb of 2022, and this in the first time I've heard this routine in well over 50 years. I almost remembered it word for word... Loved every second of it. Thank you.

When I was a kid, we used to cruise Lake Texoma in the summer with ole Jerry Clower on the 8 track in the boat. The adults were drinking beer and having a good time while us kids were just laughing our butts off. Good times.

I got to meet Jerry Clower in '81 or '82. I ran into him in a restaurant in Jackson, MS. He was the friendliest, most gracious celebrity I ever met. He was a Godly man, and a national treasure. I'm saddened that he's no longer with us.

I was blessed to have met Jerry in Liberty Mississippi in the General store on Broad street. He was so cheerful and just a pleasant man to be around. There were some older men there about his age all talking local farming and politics . I was a Log truck hauler going from Bogalusa Louisiana to St Francisville Louisiana and had to pass thru Liberty Mississippi a couple times a day. He just gave off a Pleasant Godly feeling being around him.

In 1985 @ MCAGCC 29 Palms, my friends and I listened to Jerry Clower in a Motor Transport Maintenance 2.5 ton box van. In the middle of the Mojave Desert, it can get mighty cold and lonely during the Winter months. Jerry Clower had us all laughing and forgetting how nasty the CHICKEN-A-LA-KING - MRE tasted!
