I remember that Bo Derek shit. I was 10 years old then. When Black women and girls were getting suspended from work and school for wearing braids, it became the start of the double standard when it comes to beauty in the U.S. It sucks. I worked at places where dreads weren't allowed, so I had to wear a wig. In sports and showbiz, there is a little more room for expression when it comes to hair & tattoos. It's interesting how the people who defend locs are the ones who don't wear them.

This segment was supposed to be about discussing Lin doing his own thing in a respectful manner, yet they still found a way to bitch at people for supposedly stealing or claiming black culture.

There is a 24,000 year old statue carved of ivory, the Venus of Brassempouy, it clearly has a braided hairstyle. It is commonly agreed upon that cro-magnun rarely, but did in fact, have this hair style. Uneducated racism brought to you by ESPN.

Dreadlocks has existed even as far back as ancient Greece and Egypt. All Martin has to do is look at the thousands of statues with dreadlocks on it or a 5 second google search.

Guy is spot on. It's not that big of a deal. Just don't wear something and make fun of someone's culture. If you just want to rock it then that's cool, but don't ridicule. Lin wasn't being disrespctful. Martin is just looking for free airtime
