Most talented female artist in my opinion. She can sing ANYTHING!!!

Jennifer Nettles can sing the phone book. She absolutely, does not get the credit she deserves. Hopefully, those that see this, might change their opinions. Her voice is so angelic and her pitch is flawless. What an amazing rendition of "How Great Thou Art!"

Totally agree. I did not know about Jennifer Nettles until a short while ago when I came across her version of "O, Holy Night" on KZread. Just knocked me out!

I'm leaving this world soon due to illness and this is what I want sang at my memorial service by Johnn!!!! May God take you far John, your voice is untouchable!!! You should have won Duets! God bless you and your Family! I know he is doing and working amazing thing for you!!! Way to go Jenn., this show wouldn't be the same without you!!!! Love you and your God given talent!!!!!!

vale ray You can't compare the two. Carrie's version with Vince Gill is probably my favorite in the song's history. Jennifer does an amazing job as well, though. But it's not fair to compare, IMO.

One of the greatest voices Jennifer Nettles. So underrated!! Strong and powerful voice. They both sound beautiful. She's one of my favorite singers.

When people hear the hymns, something speaks to the soul. May those who hear this amazing version of this beautiful hymn come to know the One whom this song exalts. Amen.

Not only can she sing so beautiful. She is absolutely stunning.

240 dislikes? Blows my mind that there is even one! Even if ya hate the song how could you dislike the beauty and talent???

In my 71 years of enjoying music and appreciating thousands of talented singers, I have never seen nor enjoyed a singer who's talent, depth of feeling and gifts are so special and easy to feel, then Jennifer Nettles.

So if people don't like the song, they must hate your god? I don't believe in your god, I think he's a myth... but I think the song is beautiful and perfectly sung. So much for your theory that someone's enjoyment of this duet hinges on their love or hatred for your fairy tale. It's interesting to me that someone who is clearly so devout has no problem trying to sow discontent as you did with this comment... I'm pretty sure your bible talks about that kind of behavior being a no-no.

Faith, And Freedom I know what I believed, I know what I was and I'm not playing that game with you. I did not say that being a Christian was why I am an atheist, I said the Bible is a huge contributing factor in my becoming an atheist also, no one chooses to become an atheist, religious people usually become atheists while kicking and screaming trying to hold on to their beliefs.... You know, the way you come off is really condescending, you tell me that I wasn't what I said I was, basically calling me a liar, then you accuse me of dictating to you when in fact I said I don't care what you do as long as it doesn't trample on anyones rights, I would tell anyone that. Then you go on to tell me that my parents and family and friends were not who they should have been, that they were deceptive and turned me away, they taught me as they were taught and they would have never knowingly done anything to lead me the wrong way, I came from a long line of preachers, deacons, Sunday School teachers, went to church every Sunday morning Sunday night and Wednesday night and as I got a little older I went to Bible study on Monday nights, every time I had a chance to go I went and I was encouraged to go, yes, I was misled but it wasn't in the way you meant it and it wasn't their fault, they didn't and still don't know that god isn't real. Also quoting Bible verses serve no purpose when talking to an atheist, most were once Christians just like me and we know the song and dance and most know a lot more about the Bible than you would ever think and you'll cherry pick around it or say it's out of context but there's some heinous stuff in there, stuff that no amount apologetics can fix. BTW, I am an ape and so are you, that isn't an insult, it's a fact and it was a Christian who first classified us as being apes and our DNA confirms it.

Absolutely beautiful! This isn't in competition to Carrie Underwood's version (which is incredible) so I don't understand why the negative comments. If you don't think it's as great then move on. I feel people jump so fast to negativity instead of rejoicing the fact that a beautiful song about our Lord was sung beautifully on a show that is viewed by millions. That right there is a blessing alone. ♡

I agree. I think Carrie Underwood set the standard for the hymn. I was actually in the audience for the performance above. Carrie and Jennifer are the two best country vocalist.

Jennifer Nettles is a superstar, Diva, whatever positive thing you choose to call her. An unparalleled voice.

Her voice is Liquid Gold.... and I found her on KZread.. and now I listen to all of her music.

Not so many people in this world can do something like this.

Jennifer Nettles is purely one of lifes talented singers. She can go so many genres and be right there killing it. Love her talent. Musics chameleon.

my dad died in 2006 and the choir sang this song and when i hear it, it brings tears to my eyes. this one and the version by carrie underwood by far are the best. i keep coming back to both version when i need a little solace. r i p dad.

Saw Nettles live when she 1st arrived on the scene. Was blown away by her vocals and still am. She could do a single on just her vocal warm ups. That's amazing all by its self.

Incomparable performance of one the most amazing Christian hymns I know. Jennifer Nettles is too good in all of her performances to even have time to do a show like this. She should be singing all across the world for all whose reverence can understand and appreciate her renditions of Holy music. And, because the two men she performed with voices soooo complimentary to hers and hers to theirs, I'd love to see her record with then both of them. For John, this is song gets my vote !
