The ending has my bawling
If nothing else, Whitney was a true fan of the music. She loved on the young singers like no other. ❤
2:41 Made me cry when Jhud started the 2nd verse and singing directly to whitney. "I hope Life treats you kind and I hope you have all you dream of. .." I miss withney sooo bad.

The best soul singers in the world! Both together. What a meeting! Do not delete this for never!
When you have an iconic legend like that, praise you. That just doesn't happen. She was blown away by Jennifer's performance. She was literally fanning herself. And then she put her own little spin on it as well. That will go down and one of the greatest performances ever.
From being rejected by American idols to singing for Whitney💜

I don't understand these people who always bring up about her not winning American Idol. FORGET IT In Jennifer Hudson's season there were other singers as talented as her, including the one who won, Fantasia. Talent is not just having a wonderful voice, but knowing how to engage your niche fans with your performance, maturity, emotion and charisma. Jennifer Hudson is the best American female voice in recent years, this performance is one of (several) proofs of that.

@@newjack1982 Exactly. Maybe if Simon hadn't been so critical, she wouldn't have evolved so much. We'll never know. Of course, Jennifer had the best career, but even though I really like her, I still get goosebumps listening to any live Fantasia song

@felipespengler6463 I agree about Fantasia. There was no touching her that Season, and she's gone on to tremendous glory and respect in the industry. Jennifer has as well, I'm so proud of them both. They were the two who were most clearly destined for their careers today.
You know you're extremely talented when almighty Whitney Houston remains standing during the entire duration of your performance 👏

When she did that quick look right before the beat dropped always sends chills through me. Plus, how she managed to blend both versions of the song.

If Whitney approved the way she did, there's nothing left to say. AMAZING PERFORMANCE!
I am watching this for the first time. It’s September 2020. When she sang “I hope life treats you kind” directly to Whitney I started crying. Thinking she only had a few years of life left. Jennifer was amazing singing to her idol. Not yet knowing she will sing her one more tribute the day after Whitney passes away. Whitney looked so proud of Jennifer. As if the torch was passed.

My respect to Jennifer Hudson, she has a great voice and talent. This performance was absolutely beautiful, she wasn't trying to imitate Whitney but honoring her legacy.

I totally agree! This was a true rarefied moment to sing in front of the The Voice and to see Whitney truly enjoying this heart rendering tribute to her from the most celebrated non winner (Simon Cowell's biggest mistake. EVER.) Even more powerful to pay tribute to someone while they are still alive which made this performance even more poignant.
Whenever I miss Whitney, I’m always here. Whitney, you always stays in my heart. ❤
The most amazing thing about Whitney was her sisterhood and ability to see and hear others’ gifts. She was never threatened by other singers. You can see here how she embraced Jennifer with literal open arms.
She sung this song in her own way,but still maintained the beauty and grace of the song, only a true diva can do this, great job Jennifer!!!

No whtney didn't have to stand ,but it's not about standing or sitting what Whitney was doing was showing class and giving propers to and encouragement to Jenn Hudson who did a stupendous cover of a very well received recording of "I Will Always Love you " a simply brilliant performance by Jennifer Hudson all the while making the song her own even keeping the integrity of the song well done Jennifer & Whitney was say by standing I meaning Whitney concurs. That's what that standing meant .
