Jemele Hill on Sage Steele’s Obama and COVID Vaccination Comments

Atlantic writer Jemele Hill joins “Prime with Charles Blow” to talk about sports anchor Sage Steele questioning former President Barack Obama’s Blackness and comments about her employer, ESPN’s parent company Disney, mandating employees take the COVID-19 vaccine.
“My guess is that probably didn’t play over very well inside the building because that’s a direct criticism of company policy and companies usually don’t tend to like [when] you do that in a public fashion,” Hill says.
All this and more on “Prime.”

Grossly biased report on what she said. I'd encourage anyone watching this to just listen to her in context by going to the interview on Uncut with Jay Cutler. The relevant comments made at the 41 minute mark. In the meantime you're welcome to read the transcript of what she actually said right here: Barbara Walters like, ripped me. Live TV and then afterwards too. Umm because they were wondering they were like “Why is it so important to you to say that you’re biracial?” I’m like “I - Cause my mom’s white, she’s Irish Italian and my dad’s black. I’m like why - why not?” I actually feel like I have the best of both worlds and I think its a huge blessing and I’m - why not? And and she’s like “what happens when you fill out your census?” I’m like, “I don’t know the last time I filled out my census was” but “if they make you choose a race,” she’s like, “what are you gonna put?” “Well, both” She’s like, “Well you can’t” she goes “what’re - Barack Obama chose black and he’s biracial” “Well congratulations to the President. That’s his thing,” I think that’s fascinating considering his black dad was no where to be found but his white mom and grandma raised him. But hey, you do you. I’m gonna do me, and then they put up a picture behind me of my parents and my brothers and me. I’m like, I’m pretty sure my white mom was there when I was born and my white family loves me just as much as my black family and I got killed for that, Jay. And so I still feel strongly about being biracial umm, because that is, isn’t that what we want with diversity?

All while the CDC and other health institutions beg the masses to think of those who are vulnerable and\or cannot receive the vaccine. Jamele mentioned in this very video that one of the dudes in the NBA who held out, did so because of one time he was administered some aspirin and felt adverse effects from it, so by his logic ALL medicines are faulty and not to be trusted.
