The best part of this for me, by far, is "Nadia". Aside from the fact that the melody itself is hauntingly beautiful, it illustrates perfectly what makes Jeff Beck unique and irreplaceable: the astonishing control over tone (esp. including vibrato) and dynamics his fingers provide. (And it's the *electric* guitar, specifically, that gives Beck the "canvas" to do what he does.) I don't think there's anyone, on any instrument, in any music genre, who does what Jeff Beck does in the way he does it, which is why it will be a massive loss when, someday, he's gone.

When all is said and done Jeff Beck is going to be known as one of THE most important guitar players in history, in any style. He never stood still in his career and grew musically far and above his brit invasion peers, nothing against them. Also, it's impossible to make comparisons to Hendrix since Jimi didn't get the chance to show how far HE would have gone. In any case if he had lived him and Beck on stage together (with a combined who knows how many groundbreaking albums behind the both of them) would have been a fucking supernova. After hearing this I can't help thinking that Lopsy Lu sounds like Freeway Jam's prettier sister.

People who do not appreciate Jeff Beck have irreparably turned themselves off. He is an exemplary "live wire," open to perceiving any inspiration and direction that any atmosphere will have to communicate "telepathically" with any receptive artist. Enough with that Arabic shit. We already got Enough of that's hit in Europe. Go to the mosk and play that shift.
A stage full of over the top TALENT!!!!
Jeff's performance of "Nadia" is so captivating. It makes you not even wanna blink.
After hearing this I can't help thinking that Lopsy Lu sounds like Freeway Jam's prettier sister.

there will be a museum in 100 years dedicated to this musical renaissance we have experienced in the 20th century. appetite for destruction will be there, hendrix will be there, zeppelin will be there. tiny tim will be there. procul harum will be there. jeff beck will be prominently displayed.
There aren't that many guitar players who can make Vinnie break a sweat, even that little one - AMAZING band all around!
Hands DOWN!!! MY FAVORITE ’MUSICIAN’....... SCREW 'WHATEVER’ INSTRUMENT THEY ARE PLAYING!!!!!! Thank You Stanley for INTRODUCING ME TO HIM.... (”Hello Jeff” 1978)

Craig Gann I bet there are many guitar players like myself who love classic rock and progressive rock yet do not like Beck's playing in the least. Gary Moore, Shawn Lane, Paul Gilbert, Nuno Bettencourt, Ritchie Blackmore - all great players. Beck is not even in the same league.

People who do not appreciate Jeff Beck have irreparably turned themselves off. He is an exemplary "live wire," open to perceiving any inspiration and direction that any atmosphere will have to communicate "telepathically" with any receptive artist. There is no guitarist as receptive to any and every potential influence that this universe (and probably others, as well) emits.

I play guitar whole my life, I think I am good, no false crap here, I am real. Isay that because I love music. But if you have something so special inside of you like this man Jeff Beck, thats sooo awesome. Even if you dont, i tell you - just play. Play and play and play, it gets better all the time. Keep on :)

The solo guitar statement introducing Nadia announces Beck's greatness right away; any pitch errors would be ultra glaring, but bold Beck, with his unerring sense of pitch and control of bends, pulls it off perfectly as usual; fantastic!

Love Stanley Clarke !!!
That is undoubtedly an Indian infleunced melody! Jeff was just awesome.

My son Aidan hears a funny in this intro. Having a late lunch it has given him kiddie laughter and a grandiose Smiler. ASD Helper that relaxed him with the Joy in Fun. Thanks Dr. Jeff.

Happy 64th Birthday Stanley Clarke!
No one plays the wammy bar like Jeff Beck. Absolutely amazing and creative!!
i have seen jeff about a dozen times. even in small clubs. only jimi, who i saw at woodstock, could compete with him. all he needs is a great bass guitarist and he can entertain you for hours. he obviously enjoyed playing with stanley.

+Big Daddy Even Jeff bowed to Jimi many times verbally and he was always amused to hear from the stage costume tailor, that they shared, that Jimi had a bigger dick than he did! Apparently Jeff has a big one himself and tailors measure inner seams at lot! In the end you can't say which one it better but Jimi is definitely up there on par at the least.

now this is an ALLSTAR band. I've quit trying to tell people about Jeff Beck, if they don't like him it's their loss. He is quite simply the greatest guitarist of our time. Stanley is great, but Tal is much cuter, lol.

Well Tal is fuckable and Stanley is not but Stanley completely owns all bass players.... not on this cut, his sound was bad trebly and weak but likely this was the engineers fault.
Love watching JB and the rest jam. Looks like they are always having a great time!
Music is not a race, only to the mediocre. Great upload, thanks.
This is the very-best-version of this piece. Never before and never after was this gig as great as on this evening at North Sea Jazz. Clap ya hands ´n stomp ya feet...
What happen when you put 2 talents like Jeff beck and Stanley Clark together ?and if you put a Piano like that all together ? and if you add a drumer like that ?WOW ! that's IREAL !
wowww....!!! great uploaded!!! thanks.... !
Out of the three to come out of the Yardbirds - Beck, Page and Clapton - Beck is by far the most creative, technical and WOW....
ok.. I understand your reaction.. because.. it really took a while before Stanley was ..finally..also in the clip.. at first it was just Jeff to see.. but.. finally.. there came Stan 'The Man' ;) greetas.. Carmen
