The 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concerts was a two-day concert series celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The concert took place on October 29 and 30, 2009 at Madison Square Garden, New York City.
The idea behind the concert was to have Hall of Fame inductees perform in eight segments (Crosby, Stills and Nash, Simon and Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin, Jeff Beck, Metallica, and U2) and present their own songs or songs originally performed by other Hall of Fame inductees.
A four-hour compilation of the concert was first broadcast by the US television provider HBO on November 29, 2009. In addition, the concert was released on DVD (HBO compilation on two DVDs plus a bonus DVD). Source: Wikipedia #jeffbeck #vinniecolaiuta #sting #billygibbons

Absolutely incredible. What a loss to the world. There will never be another Jeff Beck. It will soon be 10 months and it still hard to process.
Ever since the 1970s, I've had a list of Top Five Guitarists in the back of my head. Ever since I first heard Jeff Beck, he's been at the top of that list. No one else can match his tone and phrasing, and he did things no one else would even try. He could thrash like a speed metal player or get crazy like Hendrix, and still play so clean you can hear every note. We will not see his like again.

Jeff Beck takes playing the guitar to a whole different level. No disrespect to the others - all extremely talented and I enjoyed every performance. But Beck stands out because of his ability to go from ripping solos to gut retching melodies in a heartbeat. Never heard any other guitarist do what Beck does. It's just amazing... What a loss for us all. RIP, Mr. Beck.

Exactly! He can play the most delicate little melodies and then rip your face off. All on a Strat. With his thumb. And those incredible harmonics squealing. He was fearless. My wife loved him and we saw him 3 times over our years together. She died last year and he died a few weeks ago and somehow it just intensifies the loss of her.

I agree w u about Jeff, and according to someone I jus heard called him "a 1 out of 1." Meaning there is no one in his class. Now regarding these other accompanying artists, I think it is unfair to compare them w Jeff. Rather, what an INCREDIBLE compatible group they are. I only saw Jeff once, and on the 2nd song I said to myself, WHO THE HECK IS THAT DRUMMER? My friend schooled me and said that is Vinnie, at least the 3rd best drummer in the world..., he didn't compete w Jeff, rather complimented him w distinction, and it was superlative or watever is a good adjective. Anyway, w all due respect, Thank you Dear God for humble Superstars like Jeff Beck, please have mercy on him and welcome him into your Kingdom, Amen

No he had good time and made good noise!!!!!!!!
When I was 18 in 1975, my friend turned me on to Blow by Blow, I wore the vinyl out in one year and had to buy it again. I taped it as best I could on a cassette recorder I don't even remember how I did it. I was a track and cross country runner, and it went to every meet with me and I played it over and over on the bus when we went on away meets. I was Immediately taken with Cause We Ended As Lovers. After that I bought every album that came out that he made. Years later I can't say I've got every album he made however I've got a lot of them. I was listening a lot to John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra too. Beck seemingly has the ability to make whatever he thinks in his mind come out of his hands like a transducer and they magically flow out of his instrument. Actually I don't know if He even thinks it, it's just instinct, and he can make any sound that he hears, a master imitator of sound. Jeff is the Most Unique Guitar player I've ever heard, a musicians, musician, but can be loved by anyone, there is no category or pigeon hole for Jeff, more than a Master Craftsman. Still On The Run is a great Documentary, I highly recommend watching it if you haven't yet. RIP Brother !

How can Jeff Beck possibly rest in peace after stepping off that stage??!!! The whole segment is a blast from a master guitarist in the presence of some of the best musicians on the planet. So extremely fortunate to have lived through this period of brilliant musicians and music and to have played with some fantastic guys who had no boundary’s . Pity about the music of this era . Unless there’s stuff I’ve not yet been saturated with. Let me know.

What a guitar master...he does things no one else can do. Always pushing the boundaries of the guitar and mostly with his hands vs. a crazy array of pedals and sound boxes. So glad I saw Jeff Beck one last time during his recent tour with Johnny Depp. I had great seats and sat in amazement watching the way he can make the guitar play sweet, heavy, snarl and even sing like a vocalist. I still remember how blown away I was by the Jeff Beck Truth LP in 1968 as a 9 year boy. In 2022, as an old man, I was still being blown away by Jeff Beck and his guitar and musical prowess. Love the mix here. Tal really sounds great and you can hear the bass clearly. Recently she spoke after Jeffs passing and mentioned she has a rare connection with him when playing. Said Jeff would feed off the band. She spent time with Jeff and his wife and was pretty close. Said Jeff was pretty quiet most of the time but with friends was pretty funny/goofy as she would say. The one thing she said was that she felt she would never connect musically with another musician like beck. And most likely she is right. Her solo album is actually really good. I like it allot but a totally different style of play. Just over 18 she somehow connected with the greatest of them all.

No disrespect to any of the other marvelous players & singers featured here - but why in the name of holy rock 'n' roll is neither Stevie Wonder nor Buddy Guy mentioned in the title of this video??? Stevie Wonder, the internationally acclaimed musician & superstar who wrote Superstition for Beck. Buddy Guy, the musician's musician who inspired Beck, Hendrix & countless others! Though I was pleasantly surprised to see Stevie at the outset of this video, his & Buddy's omission from the title is an egregious oversight!!!
