I am almost done restoring my old high school Jeep and getting ready to road trip with my brother up to Alaska in late spring . I love working on it. And I remember looking at some of your videos a ways back. You do a great job of explaining all the details and always come up with great results. Awesome looking video, I have a 91 wrangler yj jeep and had some cj7 hard doors and they fit but would not latch right, I wish I had seen your video before I sold them, my loss someone else is gain 😢

Yep, eventually. I got another rear glass for the hardtop Monday. The paint projects will be next summer probably cause Tennessee is a deep freeze right now!!

Glad you did this vid. Helped me today with my new/used doors for winter ! Any chance you will tackle a water pump and belt replacement on a yj ? Did one this past weekend and the idle jumped from 700 to 2900 rpm. Replaced the mass air sensor, that brought it down to 1400, but didn't fix it. No idea what to do.

TJ's have a different latching system, but, can the door itself be lifted say a 1/4 of an inch by loosening the hinge blots? I need to align my 2000 TJ passenger door. Thanks.

Looks nice with the Supertop! You gonna redo the window tint? I think a video on window tinting would be cool, I plan on tinting the hardtop windows while it's off the Jeep. (I always seem to get bubbles). The projects never end lol. My front diff cover is stuck on. I tried for hours to pry it off and beat on it with a mallet with all the bolts out and it just won't come off. I gave up and put it back together but now my fill plug leaks a little so now I gotta add thread sealant to it.

I plan on fully re-working the doors. The tint is actually 2 layers. It gotta come off and be redone bad! I found a hard top a few months ago. I gotta put a back glass in it and find the rear window trim that goes on the bottom of the glass. I'll be tinting the hard top as well. Gd day I know this is an old thread but im having issues with the top of my full doors. The vent window frame is actually just about touching the bottom of the windshield frame while the top of the door has a big gap that water pours in whenever its raining. If I lean the windshield inwards anymore the door wont close. Any suggestions?

The fit is really good. The water coming in is no where as bad as the soft doors. Big improvement. Come summer time I'll put my soft doors back on. Thanks for dropping in! Have a great day!

What torx did you use? Neither my T30 orT40 fits…

My door window frame makes contact with the windshield frame when i try to tilt my door up.

After installing my smittybilt roof rack my passenger door is misaligned. Did get it to close luckily I'm single and that door never opens. Whomever wants to get in has to climb in from the rear.

Hope you make a video of how to replace the emergency brake cable. Mine is beyond stretched I leave my jeep in gear and keep rubber stoppers to prevent it from rolling

I thought that was my issue but I found that the adjustment was way off. Soon after I got it to hold the entire e-brake pedal decided to not catch(if I push it in the pedal springs back out). Overall the e-brakes on YJs are pretty janky in my experience. I would check the adjustment first no matter how stretched the cable may be. You'd be surprised as to how far that thing adjusts

I did check the adjustment,my driveway is at a decline so there's no way to leave it without being in gear. At a flat it's OK to leave just the brake by itself. Thanks for the heads up bud.

I keep sections of channel iron by my drivers seat for e-brake. Check with your local Chrysler dealer about a recall. Rumor has it that the YJ have a recall on the ebrake system. I've read on forums that people have gotten theirs fixed for free. I can't personally vouch for that because I've never taken mine in obviously. Worse they could tell you is no. Worth a shot.

@@Poweraddicts I actually took mine down and got the work done for free. They ran my VIN to see if the recall was done before and it wasn't. Even after they did it twice my e-brake still doesn't work though. Worked for a few weeks the 2nd time but something broke again

Playing with the hard doors now. Got a crimp very middle. Wondering if that's my problem? Now On to your video

Vacuum leak, bad O2 sensor, bad TPS .. etc .. there are several things that can cause that. See if the Jeep has any trouble codes to tell give you a clue to whats going on. I have a video sowing how to get the trouble code on 1991 and newer YJs. Have a great day!!
