    4runner it is! Proud owner of a 2018 4runner SR5 Premium here. Also running Bridgestone Blizzak in the winter and I love it. I notice the 4runner barely lost traction when pulling the jeep out of deep snow.

    I have 20' 4runner trd pro, my pops has a 18' Wrangler Rubicon, Both are awesome but 4runners are just better built. Last year I went camping to panguitch, and to get up there you gotta drive up for an hour uphill. My dads jeep rubicon was getting a bit hot with just 3 passengers and a few supplies. On my 4runner I towed a pop up camper full of equipment, 5 passengers and it stayed cool on the way up. 4runner for the win!

    @thebulgarianguy8461

    3 жыл бұрын

    @Dylan Wyant that’s not an answer to my question but reality maybe settled in without people realizing. I’m not comparing camrys vs concords here, but the body on frame models. I too was a loyal Toyota guy - had a 04 taco trd. The frame disappeared at 9 years old. Bought a fj cruiser - cause you see it “was built in Japan with a different frame and etc” - same story, by year 10 it started developing catastrophic frame issues. Btw both vehicles looked like new. By that time I also started reading about more and more vehicles with transmission issues after 150k so we went our separate ways. Still, I bought a 2020 Tacoma trd offroad (love the way it looks to this day). Soon after Toyota released a recall inspection on the frames again involving vehicles up to 2018. Together with the shady built quality of the vehicle, insufficient power and constantly gear hunting transmission I simply had enough so I got rid of it and never looked back. It’s a shame really. I’ve owned 2 Toyota sedans as well and both needed nothing but oil changes and tires for almost 200k miles each. Toyota is not what it used to be. For my next truck I’ll be looking at other manufacturers as well and that alone is a failure on Toyota’s part.

    Never owned a Jeep so I cant speak for them but I am on my 3rd 4runner and they have been amazing vehicles for me. I had a 92, a 2000, and now a 2007. All were extremely reliable. Extremely capable. And the first two I sold for more than I paid for them. I am yet to ever have a major issue with one other than the odd worn out CV axle or general wear and tear of parts. Plus being able to sleep in them and having perks like the roll down rear window just makes the 4runner so versatile.

    Right off the bat they did something that is a BIG no no. That is never ever use the ball to pull out other vehicles or anything at all besides a trailer. If you jerk to hard the ball can break and go flying. It can kill someone. Best thing to do is remove the hitch and slide the strap in the hitch and than put the hitch pin throw the loop. Chain ends on straps are also a NO NO.

  • @87gunsnroses

    We definitely could have done it differently. Off camera we actually said this could be bad and if you look at the actual "pull" we went with solid end loops on the jeep recovery hook and bare strap around the ball. Not ideal, we know. I've watched a few fail videos now... won't do this again. Thanks - Matt

    Great video! I own a 4 door JK (previous model Wrangler) in Rubicon trim. It came with the KM2 tires (primarily a mud-tire.) Those tires do amazingly well in anything mud-like (such as fresh snow), but are kind of weak on wet streets and horribly bad on ice (the tread is comprised of flat blocks with no siping to grip the ice.) So for my Jeep, I prefer to run in the fresh snow vs over someone else's iced-over ruts. You mentioned a rear limited-slip in the drone video. Is your Jeep equiped with that or is that video just showing the Jeep's anti-slip (they call it Brake Lock Differential or BLD for short) where the brakes engage on the tire with no traction to help send power to the tire that has traction)? I think most modern 4WD's and even AWD vehicles have some form of this, but Jeep brags about theirs, so maybe it is better or more agrssive than other brands' version???
