Jeep Wrangler | The Most Dangerous New Vehicle?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
A comprehensive safety review of the Jeep Wrangler. In this video, we dive deep into the crash test ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's small-overlap, updated moderate overlap, updated side impact, and roof strength tests. We also examine the performance of the Wrangler's automatic emergency braking system and headlights.
Raw video footage courtesy of the IIHS.

I work for Ford, the bronco is definitely going to be the safer option because it spends more time in the shop for hardware and software recalls. I chose to work for Ford because they can't build anything correctly anymore. which means job security for me.

The reason why the jeep wrangler doesn't have curtain airbags you can take the doors off so that's why theirs no side airbags.

Really? Ford seems to have no problem getting airbags in their bronco and you can take the doors off on that too. The reason the Jeep didn’t have passenger side airbags until now was because they’re cheap and put profit over customer safety. After people grilling them for not having airbags they went right ahead and put them in-the 2024 wranglers now have airbags.
Well done video! I'm selling my brand new Wrangler due to this.
I heard that they added side-curtain airbags in 2024
The Jeep Wrangler will make changes next year, such as adding curtain airbags, improving rear seat belts, front crash prevention for pedestrians, improving headlights, and changing the rear axle.

That’s good. Can’t believe it flipped in the small overlap crash test 😳

These are well overdue changes. This should help with the side impact and moderate overlap crash tests. The issue with the Wrangler rolling over likely requires more substantial changes that will only be carried out with a full redesign.

@@crashcore_ccthink the Jeep Wrangler flipped over because the axle pushed back against the control arms.

The IHSS didn't demonstrate exactly why flipping on it's side increased passenger risk. Show me the injuries. Most cars hit the barriar and take the full brunt of the force through the chassis with increased risk of objects being thrown forward which they don't test in these tests. Sliding forward dissipates the energy and reduces the intial impact forces which was reflected in the after photos of driver's area intrusion whicbh was minimal.@@crashcore_cc

You only have to see how it held together, it only went over because of its strength ,compared to the other cars.
can you please do a video on Land Rover and range rovers?
@crashcore_cc

Unfortunately, no new Land Rovers have been tested by the IIHS (which has the most demanding crash tests). The new Range Rover was tested by Euro NCAP and earned 5 stars. Adult occupant protection specifically is 87%.

@@crashcore_cceuro ncap is far more demanding, that's why the American cars nearly always fail it, whilst the European cars have success in your tests
So scary you always see jeeps full of passengers
Do you have any videos on the BMW X3?

Not yet, but I will add it to the list!
"If you value safety (quality, reliability, driving comfort, or bang for your dollar), the Wrangler is a terrible choice." I work in the industry and have owned three Jeeps over the years. Trust me on this.
The scary part is that these crashes are only at 40 mph.
It’s a Jeep thing
I would venture that many people who buy the Wangler are not doing so necessarily for safety (even though it is important) but rather for more extreme usage. And that may including removing the doors and top, which is one of its benefits over a standard SUV or car, and I'm quite sure that many people realize the increased risk of death or injury in doing so as they are literally exposing themselves to injury by removing these parts, depiste how little they may help in a normal crash while installed. If people want a safer vehicle, perhaps a Grand Cherokee or at least a hard-top Wrangler (with a permanently affixed roof and doors) would be a better option than one with ones that can be removed. This also makes me wonder how much better the Ford Bronco is versus the RAnger (since the Bronco -- in some configurations -- has the same concept of removable doors and top).

Generally speaking, the Bronco is safer than the Wrangler and the old Ranger. The new Ranger will likely match the safety of the Bronco.
ok ! the driver passenger airbag failed to deploy? , rollover on to it's side...how did this vehicle even pass to be safe?
@dannyphantom121

There wasn’t a passenger in the front seat. There are no airbags in the rear seats.
Why doesn't jeep even offer airbags on wranglers with the doors
The reason why the jeep wrangler got a marginal rating is due to strong structure
I've always thought that the Jeep Wrangler was a 1980s vehicle masquerading as a 21st century alternative. It's crashworthiness is probably worse than Chinese vehicles.
Yeet!!
The design is very human
Rented a 2024 rubicon for a trip and I fucking hated it.
The only thing I have really to say anything about this is the fact that they only took in consideration of the plastic fender flares that easily pop off so yeah I'm more or less the impact was a brush it off the shoulder so yeah it's going to roll but if you watched how they did more of an in the front which was more of a 25% overlay of the body the car stayed on the Brown like it hmmm seems kind of funny how they are have the same body style and same everything but the fact that they actually put in consideration of where the body is versus a plastic piece is how the results ended ended very different on how the vehicle reacted to it
Did Jeep ever bother to create a crumble zone? Like no one cared at all to make this thing SLIGHTLY safe.

No one buys a jeep for safety.

Thats not good
Looks safe to me. I would rather be in the Wrangler and flip on it's side where the forward force is dissipated by sliding forward vs. absorbing all the impact through the chassis. If you look at the pics of driver's cab intrusion there is very little in the Jeep unlike my Toyota Tundra which was significant. Also, the side and roof maintained the structure very well.

Yep. I daily drive one and agree with that logic, especially given the strength of the roof rails. The headlight issue is easy to fix with aftermarket, also.
