jeanne mas looked like a bomb when she arrived! music, lyrics, voice, gestures, clothing: everything was there! we heard it everywhere and in discotheques it was madness on the dance floors ... And even today it's a delight to listen to it and you always want to stir 'le popotin"!

Yes for Julie Pietri "Eve,Lève-Toi" in 1986. I already gave the link. I haven't stopped telling him for months. I also told him to listen to "B-Sides": "L'Homme Qui Aimait Les Femmes" and "Enfant D'Exil" to get an idea!!! Fingers crossed!

Thanks for this 2nd review of Jeanne Mas, I'm a big fan! "Toute première fois" was her 1st hit, before "Johnny Johnny". The song is a metaphor of the 1st sexual experience... If you liked that song, you should also check "En rouge et noir", "Sauvez-moi" and "Les crises de l'âme" :o)

Yes! "En Rouge Et Noir" (1986), her second no.1 in Top 50.
3:13 Dereck approval already there right at the beginning of the first chorus! Romano Musumarra was in the place for that song too. You now have plenty of time to look for Axel Bauer's "Cargo de nuit".

Dereck! You are priceless! It’s so funny to see how particular sounds and elements of a song elicit such an animated reaction from you. I’ve been “losing it” and reacting with excitement and displays of joy when I am moved by particular songs and elements contained within them for longer then I probably care to admit 😂 with friends usually just wondering what is happening to me when I have one of those “reactions” while listening to music with them. I used to get embarrassed and would wonder if I was a bit “too affected” when friends would get a kick out my displays, similar to your left arm expressions and facial looks of disbelief. My big thing is playing an air synth, air drum displays and the big one for me usually involves when a song has standout strings (violin), I just can’t help myself and I end up becoming an “air violin virtuoso” 😂 Oh yeah, and I’m more than likely also dancing at the same time as this is all occurring 😆. So, when I see you get so hyped up it’s reassuring to me that I’m not the only music maniac out there! When you made the comment during the reaction about her doing all this while in heels and also about the mic wire wrapped around her neck I was 🤣 cracking up! BTW, I think your reaction to this song and video was 💯 spot on! ☮️ ❤️

Hey Dereck, thanx so much for reacting to this great hit. This took me back to the beginning of the 80s when I first heard this song being played by my mom who was training to become a French teacher. She used to play it all the time because it´s very beautiful and catchy.

@@maizeretswitches4235 On ne peut pas comparer Mylène et Jeanne Mas. Ce serait comme comparer Madonna à Cindy Lauper (de lépoque GJWHF ), Elvis à Johnny Halliday - L' œuvre de Mylène est IMMENSE. Il n'y a qu'une QUEEN et c'est Mylène Farmer.

Right on. Dereck... ! She was big and started at the same time as Mylène FARMER .. but she barely made it through 2 albums (the second being sold 1 million copies).. The brilliance of those songs just came from the fact they were ALL written by Romano MUSUMARA... who was an incredible songwriter. (Google him)... You can't be wrong with her first 6-8 hits.... SHE WAS HUGE for 5-6 years then fell to almost oblivion (unlike Mylène who is STILL HUGE !?! 40 years after... real icon)

Hi Dereck! Finnaly you did it this one! Her FIRST SINGLE in 1984! "Toute Première Fois" (Very First Time).It's my fav with "Johnny Johnny" after in 1985. You don't believe it that this first song was sold at more 800'000 copies, much more than "Johnny Johnny" and yet it is the song that we find the most in the CD'S compilations !!! Also the one who plays the most on the radio! Two remixed versions were released at the time on a maxi 45 rpm: a Special Club Remix and a Long Version. The original song is in Italien titled "Cuore Di Vento" ( we can find videos on YT) and also in English: "Into The Night" by herself even if exists two other versions by two female singers: Tony Beverly ( Italian origin) and Debra Leeburn an American student who was in Paris at the time loved this song then she recorded. But it was a FLOP! Now, you have heard these two songs, you can react on "En Rouge Et Noir" (In Red And Black), a very well-known song in 1986, there is a music video which is broadcast a lot on TV channels! I think you'll like it! Thanks guy! ☺
Another great song of her is L'enfant. That is an absolute masterpiece as well

The great musician , Mirwais , has recorded the Madonna's famous hit , Music. Daniel Darc , the singer , is dead , in 2013. But , the Taxi Girl's pop sound keeps in ours hearts !

Yes, "En Rouge Et Noir" next, followed by "Parle et çà passe" & "Suspens". Having flopped her 3rd & 4th albums, she tried to return to her original style with her 5th album- "Au Nom Des Rois". All the tracks on this album are fantastic.
